How should you deal with the campy characters

How should you deal with characters such as villager, and link who can just camp you out from the other side of the stage and don't allow you to get near them?

They often can only have one hitbox out at a time, shield the first couple on approach, then read how they react. Campers tend to become predictable when they get trapped in close quarters. Once you have them read, predict and punish.
