As far as I'm concerned, Brawl is an american game when it hits shores in america. there's really no excuse for such a small allotment for a name.

For most typical Japanese games I have played, it is five slots for letters. I would say five. That doesn't give much room, though.

There are FIVE character spaces that you can use for your name, as far as we can deduce.
