How Do I Import Custom Stage Alts?

Question: how do I import stage "alts" to my iso hack I'm working on? Have M-Ex Tool, DAT Texture Wizard, etc. What I want to do is add new Custom Stage Imports (some extracted from 20XX and other mods) to the SSS and have them selected over some of the original stages in VS, but NOT replace the original stage .dat files (including target stages), I've seen many hackers make Duplicates of stages somehow, but what do you do from there to get the game to load stages and what would those custom ID's be?
