I think if only one person had a real bullet, it might be too easy to tell where it came from. If only one guy or a few have blanks, its going to be alot easier to tell yourself you didn't fire a lethal shot.

With that said, I can't imagine why you would feel bad for killing bad people.

Usually, they all fire one shot at the heart area at the same time. Only one has a real bullet and since it hits the heart it's a one hit KO.

Things clearly have changed but that's how it once was done.

Being shot in the heart is not always lethal. That's why it's a firing squad and not an executioner, and has been for longer than the ethical concerns of using blanks.

I'm still salty about HG/SS coming out. They made my shiny gyarados less unique. No one will ever know that I caught my shiny red gyarados in Pearl in a normal random encounter while looking for a starmie years ago

But you have no room to complain. I've been playing this franchise since it's release, and ALL of this time I've played it, I've only ever encountered and caught a single legitimate shiny, and it was HATCHED.

It was Misdreavus though, so it's k.

After not touching it for years due to Ruby, found one west of New Bark Town.
Caught it. Never touched Silver again.

My first shiny was a caterpie in Leaf Green. Veridian Forest, of course. I was happy.

Then it was a Shiny Spiritomb that I hatched in Pearl. And it ended up with a Modest nature and 31 HP IVs. I was very happy.

Then I found a shiny Guarados in Pearl. Funny thing is, I brought a blissey with me just for the off-chance that I were to find a shiny and didn't want to risk KOing it.

And the last shiny I found was a Roselia in Pearl while EV training in Attack against Bibarrels.

Of course, I have... either over 600 or over 700 hours clocked in just Pearl alone.

It isn't too hard to replace the battery, though G/S are legendary for being battery drainers due to the clock.

As much as I liked GSC, my heart broke the day my internal battery in Crystal died... when I only needed about 50 or so pokemon left to complete my dex, and they were all easy ones where I just needed to train things so they'd evolve, like Pidgeotto and stuff. I even had things like Celebi and Mew completed too I miss my Celebi.

edit: i think my first shiny was a hoot hoot in pkmn silver. the only cool shiny pkmn are the ones that turn green like mewtwo and dragonite
