I had no idea you needed a permit for VISITOR parking. At SSS4 I didn't get a citation, but last Thursday I did. -_-

Is it just a weekday thing or did I just get lucky the first time?

Weekdays only. After 8PM, they don't care. You can park either in the garage or get an all day pass at the visitor booth near the main front entrance of UH (this is cheaper). Even with the pass, you can only park in Visitor parking only.

You don't need a permit for Sync's because it's separate. Just park on the left side and you'll be fine.
