Update summary

UR tier added! Praise Gungnir, and watch his set vs Earth in the video subsection! There's also a few other videos added in general that are worth checking out.

Dr. Dorf added to A tier

Lord Bahamut, TB|Van (Blasiancoolio), Crusticus, Tsuji added to B tier

Not added: Kenshin and Miazelement. Videos not judged either due to a lack of variety or competent opponents.

I almost certainly forgot someone given all the people who try to make requests through Discord and don't leave records on this thread. Don't care enough to figure out who it is.

Next update should be July 29th (a bit after EVO to clarify). Going to try to stream around 5/27/17, around 10am Pacific Time.

I just realized that I haven't posted here, so here's a quick rundown of my placings since I started playing Ganon in the beginning of 2016.
Unfortunately, I don't have a WiiU, so I can't really play online friendlies with anybody :(

- May 22 2016 – SmashFest NEO Monthly 1 Smash4 Singles – 33rd/56
http://challonge.com/SFNEOM1

- SmashFest NEO Monthly 1 Redemption Bracket Singles ST - 5th/16
http://challonge.com/ju6n2p0u

- September 17th 2016 – SmashFest Mentor 5 Smash4 Singles – 7th/21
http://challonge.com/SFM5S

- September 17th 2016 – SmashFest Mentor 5 Smash4 Doubles (w/ Drizzle (Link)) – 2nd/10 teams
http://challonge.com/SFM5D

- September 24th 2016 – CWRU Smash 4 Weekly Singles – 7th/19
http://challonge.com/CWRUS4n400

- October 8th 2016 – Smashfest Mentor 6 @ NyanCon Singles (single elim.) – 17th/86
http://challonge.com/nyancon2016smash4
Possible bad data here, the tourney was single elimination and I got 2 bye's in a row before getting eliminated by a Robin player (so I technically didn't /win/ any sets), but if it makes a difference, I'm confident I would have made it that far anyways since most of the entrants were casuals.

- October 11th 2016 – Intermission Singles – 17th/18
http://challonge.com/intermission1
Bad result lol, only including it for completion's sake. Although it is the only tourney I've ever placed dead last at for singles.

- December 3rd 2016 - It's Always Salty on Lylat Singles – 17th/33
https://smash.gg/tournament/ksu-smash-presents-it-s-always-salty-on-lylat

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- March 9th 2017 - Smashin' at Lakeland Singles – 9th/17
http://challonge.com/smashinatlakeland_s

- Smashin' at Lakeland Doubles (w/ Azi (Pikachu)) – 5th/6 teams
http://challonge.com/smashinatlakeland_d

- April 14th 2017 - Ecksdee’17 Singles (Round Robin) – 3rd/7
http://challonge.com/ERR17

- April 28th 2017 – Kent Combo 50 Singles – 13th/44
https://smash.gg/tournament/kent-combo-50/events/wii-u-singles/standings
I had a nice win against Jaguar, who isn't as active anymore, but has past wins on many Cincinnati/Columbus (I forget which lol) PR players

- April 29th 2017 – NEOHlympics II Singles – 49th/85
https://smash.gg/tournament/the-neohlympics-2/events/wii-u-singles/standings

- NEOHlympics II Doubles (w/ Crusticus (Ganon)) – 17th/28 teams

- NEOHlympics II Amateur Bracket Singles (single elim.) – 13th/33
http://challonge.com/Neoh2

Here's a couple of videos of my gameplay for those curious:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_nt0ySLbJY
Kinda "froze up" here, in the sense that I was doing a lot of day 1 Ganon unsafe stuff (like wizkick on shield lol). I guess also I'm bad at dealing with ZSS's flip jump offstage. In retrospect, I maybe could have brought it back in game 2, but I just kinda assumed I wouldn't be able to; just an example of bad mentality.

https://youtu.be/ODPUrbg1hnc
This is somewhat old and a friendly match, so we're both playing not too great lol. I mostly only saved this because I got a sick offstage upair.

https://youtu.be/bWZathTIRjs
Another older one. Slightly better than the last one, but I'm still using wizkick too much.

https://youtu.be/zTbh47hRgGI
Pretty proud of this one since it's a JV3, although I was kinda lucky that the Falcon dropped shield when I ftilt'd.

I have a bunch of other (and better examples) replays saved on my friend's WiiU that I don't have, but when I get them I can always edit this post or post them in the Ganoncord.

SO I'ma try to get on this list, though a lot of videos of myself are pretty old or pretty bad (only city in my region that streams houses the players that I tend to do bad vs) I think I have decent results and have a few videos that can show my highs and lows.

I realize theres things to work on but heres some results from this year, and a few videos.

I'm currently PRd 6th in my Province in Canada (New Brunswick) and am recognized as the best Ganon player in Atlantic Canada BUT on the next PR cycle I'll be somewhere in the 11-9 range.

Hereeee weee goooo...
Too many results in the top 3 - top 8 region to find, but I'll post the highlight ones.

9/47 - Lots of wins like.. Spook (#4-6 PR) 2-0
https://smash.gg/tournament/final-smash/events/wii-u-singles/overview
lost to the player who got 2nd in a close set that I ended with an SD, :(

1/14 - Wins on Mr. J (#12-14 PR) 2-1, PTK (Hidden Boss, just off a 2-0 win on #1 PR) 3-2, Famous (#5-6 PR) 2-0, 3-2.
http://challonge.com/SatUNBM317S4S

1/19
http://challonge.com/MSW33

3/19 - Wins on SJ Ryker (#3-4 PR), 2-0, Robopuppyz (#8-10 PR) 2-1.
http://challonge.com/SJSR10ANIS4

2/9 - Wins on PTK (Hidden Boss???) 2-0, Borlin Mourin (#6-7 PR) 6-0
http://challonge.com/SUNBIYC4

1/20 - Wins on SJ Ryker (#3-4 PR) 3-0, Famous (#5-6 PR) 2-0, Fyore (#3 PR in PEI) 3-2, 3-2.
http://challonge.com/MFE2

I doubt doubles performances are too important but I don't think I've been outside of top 3 in a doubles event in ages.

SOOO Heres a few videos... Really hard to find decent ones, I play the same players a lot in the city that im currently in, and they all like to abuse Ganon pretty bad lol.

https://youtu.be/1Iv7o71eb0g
https://youtu.be/0WeZpOPA7QY
https://youtu.be/mRrOBF-kEzY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAEI0bJmzdE

Theres also like 20 videos of me getting rekt by Diddy Kong.

THANKS

No bracket because they used paper, but I got 3rd/13 with solo Ganon at a local here a couple weeks ago
Posting because I got a notable win on Azilidaz (formerly Leafy), the best pikachu in my subregion.
I also took a game off Keeba (1st place), who's on my subregion's PR and an HM on my state PR iirc.

My first attempt for the tier list. I'm in the discord as well and I have other replays if this isn't good enough.
Bit of advice, don't upload a video where you're playing basically uncontested. We all appreciate absolutely crushing the opponent and landing the disrespect but as far actual performance goes, these kinds of videos offer very little in terms of what we can judge you on.

Success is a similar story for most of us. Failure is where we start to see differences. Show us what happens when you start to bleed.

Here's a tourney vod of me getting boned by a ZSS

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_nt0ySLbJY

Went into it with a pretty defeatist attitude, but in retrospect I realize I might have been able to take it if I hadn't.
Reeeaaaaly wasn't sure quite how to deal with ZSS's flip kick offstage; definitely wasn't expecting it to go so far through the SV platform in that one game.
Eventually I just started to fish for ganoncides to get it over with, going back to what I said before
Got a nice fsmash game 2 but it didn't kill because I got the weak hit. Probably could have taken game 2 at least if I had played more patiently, but I (maybe incorrectly) was just thinking the whole time "yup I'm at 90, no way I'm coming back from this."

Kinda sucks that this is the only tourney vod of me out there right now, because I've definitely had better sets, but it is what it is I guess

Yo, Kowalski here with vods time. I bring some tournament matches that I couldn't submit in the last update, plus some recent [online] matches. There you go:

Crew Battle:
Vs. Le Putin (Bayo) and Alphastorm (Mewtwo): https://youtu.be/yDnRiwcn7A4?t=11m57s

Invitational (something like exhibition matches):
vs Nathan (Roy, Cloud): https://youtu.be/-X0a4HDzPg4?t=1h56m26s

vs nRick (Mario): https://youtu.be/-X0a4HDzPg4?t=1h56m26s

And a most recent one (game 1 wasn't recorded but I won)
Vs. ReNDoM (Rosa): https://youtu.be/s1crI1lORpc

That's it, hopefully I can climb some spots in the B-tier this time.:4ganondorf:

Replay of the set vs Loading... (the EU wifi champion) where i sent him to losers.

Skill / random vids:
Maybe not as important as results, but I think that these vids can really show you what I'm capable of. I used to be a very popular creative musician:

I stopped making music since a few years because of reasons.
Now my creativity has pretty much returned in my Ganon play.

^No need to Bair for this, just aerial footstool^

Some friendlies: (im P1, dark smurfendorf)

Also can you please change the tag to ParagonX9?
Thanks for your time A2

Major announcement:

Effective now, I am retiring from the responsibilities of grading individuals and collecting information on the tier list. I will no longer be active in playing people or assessing videos and tournament results. Since I am still however technically the owner of this thread, I will however be open to community efforts to continue this project and collect information via similar standards I've established.

If you aren't already, you should join Discord here https://discordapp.com/invite/0e7YmZe6BIQWDY12 and try to get acquainted with people like adom, Vermanubis, Gleed, and Abbey Street. The staff at the Ganon discord will be more than happy to assess your skill in my place.

As for the actual update, since this is the last one I'm personally taking responsibility for:

Jp3 is a newcomer to the list and qualifies for A-tier. His ground game needs work (Less Flame Chokes!) but overall he has very solid control over his character, especially when following escapes and air movement, and pretty respectable performances against a region that has fairly decent Ganon matchup experience.

Added YUNGCrusade and TheOldMan to B-tier. YUNGCrusade (NotMoney) has some respectable results and flashy punishes, but I believe his competition sometimes leaves something to be desired. I do hope he produces more for me to look at though. TheOldMan I've only really seen play on stream against Void, and he's pretty hard to grade when Void already makes light work of the Ganon MU thanks to his experience against A tier Vaataji in the matchup.

As for current members, most notably OmegaRaider has been elevated to B-tier. The accuracy of his punishes in general has noticeably improved over time.

Also something I noticed about most of the current B-tiers is a lot of you run into a lot of trouble in the ledge situation. I'm a huge advocate of learning to ledgehop U-air and land on stage, which is often safer than potentially getting regrab punished or stage spiked below the ledge. Other obscure thing that might work in a pinch is ledge jump Up-B against people that insist on shielding next to the ledge.

Also, I should give some special mentions to The Forkies and Litany. Currently the most underappreciated Ganons on this tier list. There is unfortunately a lack of recent footage for me to express the amount of work these players have put into developing their skill, but I did have the privilege of meeting them at EVO.

Haven't been updated for a while, so I'm gonna post some of my more recent matches.
Got 5th in my pool at Smash Con, haven't been to any other noteworthy tourney recently.

Yo, Kowalski here with a vod. This is a money match that I had some days ago, and sadly it's all what I have atm. I lost 3-2 to Nathan (Roy), but in this game I implemented new things, like ledgehop dair for two frames and ledge stalling with ganon.

New faces:
  • i5 qualifies for B tier. He plays very neutral heavy Ganon that capitalizes on mistakes well but has some glaring problems in disadvantage (too many air wizkicks). Do your best to keep cool in disadvantage - in many cases, you have more options than you realize.
  • BABOONGA, or VROOM99, qualifies as a high B. You had respectable skill in identifying and punishing mistakes in nearly every matchup, even against Sheik. However, there's still a little work to be done when it comes to adapting to opponents who are more versed in the Ganon matchup.
  • Kaiser's Ganon needs further evaluation, but right now will be B tier. Neutral wasn't so hot in many MUs but you had a solid defense.
  • Aiakos is in B with a great punish game, but inconsistent (an issue shared with many mid to upper B tiers). A little bit of more MU knowledge and mental conditioning will go a very long way.
  • Vulgun, formerly Radical Larry, returns to the tier list as C tier. You had an okay neutral and extravagant punishes but tended to panic too much in disadvantage.
  • kosk is the best was found to be around middle of C tier by my fellow evaluators. Seems you're relatively new to Ganon's quirks but you have a lot of potential - keep on keepin' on.
  • Odeen enters the tier list in the low C tier. Punishes were okay but you had a very glaring weakness against shield-camping. Your Ganon will improve a lot once you learn to incorporate more grabs and shield pressure into your game.

Noteworthy changes:
- Van is the only new Worst Ganon this update, and he deserves the honor. Van has some of the most dynamic offense of any Ganon out there and he's able to consistently use it to win brackets. A couple of predictable play patterns are what keeps him from winning more often vs opponents who know how to fight Ganon.
- Lythero, Bloodynite, GH_0_ST and FibreOpticBrick all qualify for B tier. Lythero has demonstrated a neutral and spacing game as well as MU knowledge that is far above the C tier level, while Bloodynite, GH_0_ST and FOB advance to B mostly thanks to good results. All four still have a long way to go, however; the road to power is indeed an arduous one.
- BOB deserves a little more credit as he has incredible skill when it comes to dealing with matchups vs zoners. He has proven this time and again, even on wifi where zoners can really mess Ganon up.
- LiQui has made credible improvements in a number of fundamental areas, and his placing within A tier has changed to reflect said growth.
- Abbey Street's improvement upon his neutral will garner a slight raise in rank. Inconsistency is the main factor in his inability to advance further, however.
- Shin Gototatenks's knowledge of Ganon and application to the game is growing but it's not quite B level yet. Has a ton of potential though.

The next tier list update (and most likely subsequent updates in the future) will be done by Koskinator Koskinator , with help from numerous other Ganon mains. For more information you can talk to him on the Ganon Discord server, but keep updating and posting your results here - shows of force are always welcome within these halls.

True to abbey's description, have some more inconsistent results :p

- August 19th 2017 – eSports @ CPL Smash4 Tourney (Single Elim.) – 4th/32
Paper bracket, freed up a few people and then got destroyed by a Greninja

- August 22nd 2017 – Insurrection XXXII – 13th/23

Pretty proud of how I did in this one, even though I went 1-2 lmao; had a great set with Life that I was able to clutch out, and then I ganoncided Colinies game 2. Maybe could have won vs CB, but I was kinda tilted from how I did in ARMS lol

- September 9th 2017 – Arcadian Fury – 65th/93

Only including for completeness' sake (I don't like sugarcoating). No excuses; I played poorly, got right ****ed.

In other words, have some vods from a tiny round robin tourney I went to a while ago. I just remembered these exist. Kinda sandbagged a bit, but this should give a better idea of my gameplay than the others I posted before.
