We're expecting this next Smash direct to be a fairly short one just letting us know what, exactly, is in the 3.0.0 update along with some Joker gameplay to hype us up for the release. And possibly a hint at the next DLC character. Reggie's never been involved in a Smash direct; why would he all of a sudden be given the hosting duties of a Direct for a series he has never advertised for? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense; honorary or otherwise.

he's president of nintendo of america, i don't necessarily mean a smash bros. direct, but an in general one of which he's been part of before, which would include joker gameplay/info, since he's leaving on april 15th it would be a last opportunity to say goodbye to his fans, of which nintendo has traditionally communicated with through their directs

I’m glad I jumped in early on! It’s fun to read back now - a lot of people said they’d love to have him, but that it would probably never happen.
I checked through the archived pages recently. It was approximately on page 12 that someone tempted fate by saying he'd be a never-ever, even though it's just been speculation at that point anyway.
Has anyone shown visual proof? I don't buy text.

It's weird because we're getting so much closer compared to the wait up to now, but i cant really shake totally off some of the hype having been affected by the wait. Like, one week ago would've been perfect, especially if they'd had a smash direct mid-march or at least a few days before release.
Probably will be easier once we hear of a direct.

I mean, if memory serves, they also had a listing for Smash Brothers itself before it was announced. If you can leak Smash without being blacklisted, then I think you can probably get away with two games that have been heavily rumored and A Link to the Past...

Yeh there'll be a week's notice probably, so it's not within the next week. I also dont expect it to be a shadow drop.

Say that the update would break people's replays? No. People were worried it would, but it didn't and they never said it would.

On my side I'm kind of unmotivated by a lot of stuff but invested in smash in a way, and dont 'really' have a true main so I'm really looking to playing a new character i might like.

Right now, I'm just concerned about whether Reggie will receive a proper final bow out. That, and I got a medical check-up next week, but that's besides the point.
I hope he gets something, even if it is prerecorded and airs after he leaves...
