Based on the other "Here's the keys" threads, I decided to make my own take on the thread for hypothetical Switch 2 Editions of Switch 1 games. The only rule is that your hypotheitcal Switch 2 Edition must have something new to justify being a Switch 2 Edition. This can range from technical updates to a brand new side mode. The Switch 1 game in question can be a 1st party title or a 3rd party title.

To start this off, here's my hypothetical Switch 2 Edition of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
  • Fighter #00: Dragon King
  • Meaningful balance changes across the board
  • Rollback netcode
  • Target Test is now an option for Stage Builder (which now supports mouse controls)
  • You can now rematch bosses via the Spirit Rematch feature
  • You can now create your own Classic Mode route
  • Squad Strike and Smashdown can now be played online
  • Upgrade Pack would be around $10. Does not come with DLC.

I gotta go with my reasonable take on a Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
  • Upgrade Pack would be $10-$20 USD.
  • Full game + Upgrade Pack would be $70-$80 USD. Does not come with Torna DLC.
  • Graphical and performance upgrades.
  • English Re-dub as an option.
  • Pneuma, Rex, and Nia receive Amiibos.
    • Amiibos can be used to get new costumes easier.
  • New costumes, including XC3 Rex, XC3 Nia, and Swimsuit Pneuma.
  • New Blades, including a few completely new characters, and Noah and Mio.
  • A new epilogue story, which details Rex and Nia fighting Fogbeasts amidst Pyra & Mythra’s disappearance.

I'm not in the xenoblade fanbase but doesn't the game already have an English dub? Is it bad? Poorly translated? Do you wanna get rid of the British accents? Genuine curiosity from an outsider here

XC2’s initial English dub was known for a few odd line takes (i.e. Rex screaming like a racing car).

Really, we might just need a few lines from a few characters re-done, and that could be it.

I'd probably phrase it as "a few lines are re-dubbed" instead of "English Re-dub as an option" then. The latter implies the whole thing needs changing.

  5. New game mode: Superstar Mode - Complete specific Challenges by gaining the most points on the Leaderboard. You can unlock this new mode by gaining 500 points in three Challenges or less.
Truth be told, I am fully aware that I left some games off these lists. But when you have a chance to put Duck Hunt in a NES Remix-style game when Nintendo wouldn't? You take that chance at the risk of bumping off a NES Remix veteran. And for the SNES section, I nearly put Panel De Pon instead of Kirby Super Star.

Princess Peach Showtime: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

  • Daisy is added as a playable character for 2 player mode, she can only be playable in multiplayer mode as Player 2 initially, but Player 1 can select her after the main story campaign is finished.
  • Three new floors added after completing main story mode, accessible by elevator.
  • First two floors contain 4 levels each, with four new costumes getting two levels each.
  • These four new costumes are: Nurse Peach, Cosmic Peach, Hyrulean Peach, and Bounty Hunter Peach.
  • Nurse Peach is based on Nurse Peach from Doctor Mario, with Peach playing Dr. Mario levels with but as Nurse Peach instead in order to advance through the level. Nurse Peach and Nurse Daisy both have costumes from Dr. Mario World.
  • Cosmic Peach has Peach dressing up as Rosalina and going through various Mario Galaxy levels like the Cosmic Observatory, Good Egg Galaxy, etc, and helping Theets dressed as Lumas along the way. She can use powers related to Rosalina similar to her moveset in Smash. Daisy's costume is based on Fire Rosalina's palette.
  • Hyrulean Peach has Peach dressing up as Zelda and going through a Hyrulean based play, fighting Sours dressed as bokoblins and saving Sparklas dressed as Hylians, Gorons, and Zoras. Fights a sour dressing as Ganondorf while you ally with a Theet dressed as Link at the end. Peach is based on Link Between World's Zelda dress colors and Daisy is based on Twilight Princess Zelda dress colors.
  • Bounty Hunter Peach has Peach dressing up as Samus and going through Metroid levels and fighting Sours dressed as Space Pirates with Sparklas dressed as Galactic Federation Troops and Chozos as allies. Fights a sour dressed as Ridley at the end. Peach costume is based on Power Suit Samus and Daisy costume is based on Gravity Suit Samus.
  • The third floor has Sparkla levels for all four new costumes, as well as a new boss level that opens up. You fight a new Sour dressed as a certain Koopa in order to rescue Toadsworth and a Theet dressed as Mario.
  • New Jigsaw puzzle minigame accessable by a theet NPC in the hub on the first new floor. You can play 15 jigsaw puzzles with 30-50 pieces, based on all the levels in the game.
  • New Dress and Stella patterns based on Rosalina, Pauline, Birdo, Toadette, Zelda, Samus, Isabelle, and Squid Sisters. Peach and Daisy also get Dress and Stella patterns, loosely based on each other and exclusive to the other (and not too similar as to not confuse players). Nurse Peach/Daisy also get patterns as with all the costumes in the original game.
  • New storybook heavily similar to "Rosalina's Storybook" accessable by a theet NPC in the hub on the second new floor. The format is exactly the same as Rosalina's storybook down to the artstyle and in chapter forms. This tells the origins of the Sparkle Theatre, how a theet named Apple befriended Grape to found a theatre troupe, but eventually they had irreconciliable differences that led to Apple separating from Grape and founding her own theatre, being Sparkla Theatre. Apple eventually finds an injured Sparkle Sprite and heals her, befriending her and teaching her all about theatre. This Sparkle Sprite is Stella and continues to protect the theatre long after Apple passes from old age, in order to protect her legacy.
