Help with Lucas MU?

I find it very diffucult to get out of down-air chains that go up to 80% and other combos like that. Lots of quick-hit combo characters like sonic, lucas and ness give me a very hard time. Any ideas on how to get out of these combos, keep them away, and get good hits into an edgeguard?

Get a secondary lol. i beat lucas a few times but lost more than won granted this was only 1 player but he was a very good lucas

Lucas has bad projectile range bad cc and beware of di when they down throw near the ledge if u di off stage then u can get spiked and of course ps and stage control
