Ralph appearing in Brawl: slightly higher, but not by much.

He's one of my favorite characters and it's always been a small hope for me to see him in Brawl, but it's so unlikely that I try not to get my hopes up.

Needless to say, it'd be a pleasant surprise ^.^

I'd thought I'd get that sort of response.

Still, we can only hope.

Now we went from begging for sword-wielding characters, to asking for certain sword-wielding styles, which need to be as diverse, cool, and hopefully original as possible!

As far as charaters go, you never know, it Sakurai! Also consider, Miyamoto's helping Sakurai a lot in the making of Brawl! He also MADE the legend of zelda series, & almost all the Melee characters, whci adds more, chances 4 unordinary ideas, & exellent characters!

Recently, doesn't it seem DK fans are mad because DK got only one spot, while LOZ got 5spots? Despite that, LOZ is one of the most popular series done by Nintendo, contending with Mario. I also heard from a good source it's the #7 selling series of all time! I can see Brawl having 2 new LOZ characters, easily, & I hope someone working on Brawl looks at your ideas & at least considers it! DK needs 3 or 4 new characters (Dixie, Diddy, K Rool, DK Jr.)!

This is probably the best character idea/move setup I've seen yet, easily! I want that LOZ charcter, only behind Ganondorf (with sword, and give old moveset to a F-Zero character), Wolf Link w/t Midna, Then Ralph, with your sick setup! Followed by Zant (wonder how he would work) Ganon (crazy TP version), Young Zelda/Tetra, Vatti, and Aghamin.

Can you make a moveset for a new YLink (cel-shaded), or show us a possibily how Pickery Sword Link would work? You got any other great ideas like this man, I wanna hear them! Still it doesn't take owning or knowing OoA or OoS to know a good character idea when I see one! Great job, and I hope you can considering making more originals! Keep it up!

Sweet! Another moveset by you would own, considering how you convinced everyone with your Ralph moveset. You own at making these movesets!

As for a LOZ fighting game, that would own! Especially if it had all the LOZ games and characters from each of them in it (with the exception of the pointless Phillips games). Multiple Links, Four Swords Links, Ganon, Ganondorf, Aghamin, Zant, Vatti....man that would make me happy! I gonna go to that LOZ game idea post now, even though Four Swords Adventures was kinda like that (random fun), but this would own! Still a great idea WindGuru I hope someone working on the Brawl project reads this!

Just out of curiosity, are there any other characters in the Legend of Zelda series that might fill the role of Link's rival? None come to my mind other than Ralph, but I thought it'd be interesting to see who may be in competition with him in that regard.

Unfortunately, despite the fact I've been on Nsiders nearly as long as I have on SmashBoards, I'm still bogged down by restrictions, namely posting image files and direct links, so it's nowhere as eye-catching as your original post. Oh well...

I can't stand Nintendo's site in general. It might help if we got something akin to Club Nintendo--y'know, an actual reason for registering games? It's not as if Ninty's NOT flush with cash at the mo'.

Anyway. This thread. It's pretty snazzy...I don't really know how I feel about Ralph (I barely remember Seasons Ages), but I don't see any glaring reasons why he should be outright excluded. Besides the usual stuff: he's alot like Marth, incredibly unknown (thus unpopular), and we don't want clones in Brawl.

Meh, I think these two games should at least be referenced by Sakurai. They had some of the most unique Zelda characters ever created in them. Okay, Ralph was one, but what about a witch that rides around on a vacuum cleaner? Lol.

As far as clones go, well, Metakngiht could be like Mario, in that Ralph takes the bare bones from him, but with new moves, like Luigi.

Final point yo: Ralph is strangely popular for some reason, despite being in one game. Read (if anyone's interested in fanfiction) Sunruner's awesome Matters of the State on fanfiction.net, or search around on deviantart.

Persionally, I think it would be cool if Ralph was allowed the seed shooter too. Or a 'piercethrough' move, where he kinds of smash blade-first THROUGH an enemy and appear on the other side.

i think flagship (the 3rd party company that made the 4swords series, the oracle series, and the min cap) should make little zelda spinoff games about secondary characters. they should especially do it since nintendo has (for now) taken over development of the handheld zelda games, and ralph would be a prime candidate for a little bit of solo action and im sure theres others from zelda games (anyone ever wanted to play as sheik?)

anyways, thats just a fantasy and i doubt anything would ever happen along those lines, but its still fun to think about.

How about he could play then harp and the battlefield changes for a short period of time. All characters caught inside something is frozen untill the place changes again. or like, Ralph plays the harp and appear on a random spot on the field? Or he could turn older for a short period of time and deal more damage.

I can't really see Ralph as a MK clone, save for his fencing moves/combos.

But yeah, Ralph is one of the top three additional Zelda candidates on my list as he's pretty much the only rival Link's had in the series - that's always a plus. Also, the Oracle series is one of my favorite Zelda offerings, so I would love for it to see some representation in SSBB. The only problem I have is a possible oversaturation of Zelda characters, but then again since Y. Link and Sheik are expected to leave, that probably won't be a problem...

*nods* I hate when people think Link's RIVAL is Dark Link or Gannon. There's a difference between rival and enemy, especialy in the point where rivals just compete, not necesarrily kill each other.

Seedshooter is uber pwnage. Use the gun and it'll shoot a random seed. You should be able to angle your shoot too. Yay!

But, I think Ralph is not gonna make it (however I still want him to). We have Tingle, Vaati and Midna now. Tingle and Vaati appeared in multiple games and Midna is essential in Twilight Princess. There's a dark cloud of sadness above Ralph .
EDIT: I forgot Skull Kid.

How about an aim ability to go with the seed shooter. Ralph stops on the spot to aim, but gets 100% chance to hit.

Of course, as he stops, his vaulnurability will weigh up the attack.

Roc's cape and bouncing seeds? Awesooooome. He'll be more wtf than kirby if we keep this up.


Anyone but me that's thinking of tauntings? True, I don't know aaaall that much about the game (I only get to play it at rare occasions by my cousin) But I think I remember something about taunting.
If not, my mind could probably do a whole lot of funny comic out of it. (I know I probably should make some kind of poster with 'Ralph for brawl!' theme on it)

Maybe you should make it into an attack thing. Taunting, you loose controle of your character for a bit.

Or something like 'dramatic entrance' where he falls from a random place and smashes down sword-first, freezing and damaging the enemies around.

Or something about the power glove. Like picking up an enemy or a huge item and throwing it at people.


Hm... wearen't there something about Marth being royalty? Wouldn't a battle between Marth and Ralph then be kind of mini-warfaring? Next we know, they're sending armies after each other.


Also, that super attack, Ralph could play the harp of ages to swoop back into the past and attack younger versions or ancestors or something, then returning. Dealing heavy damage to the other characters.
