After the weekly character discussion topic was locked I noticed something that is rather harmful to the board.

We are overly defensive.

Perhaps it stems from early perceptions of Sonic, how we often had t hear people say "lol jab to stop Sonic". Or overswarm's terrible blanket statement about Dtilting.
Its understandable, stuck stupidity isn't excusable but the response to it is what is not.

In the WCD, a number of Sonic immediately got defensive after what as said. Some was warranted, most f it was not.

This needs to stop. The Sonic boards cannot be taken seriously if it is felt that they cannot act maturely. If a person is wrong, explain why they are wrong, make your points and then stop. If they don't want to listen then why force them? They only harm themselves in being ignorant.

Again I will go back to the WCD topic. There were several points that were true, yet rather than work with that, many lost their temper.
Accept the things that are true, deny those that are false, and be willing to accept that something might be true even if it has not been proven to be.

now its understandable that people get angry and feel they are ignored. This is understandable, we main a character who is not high tier, a character who doesn't have a good chance at winning. So it is understandable that not many will want to look into things.
If something is bad, knowing more about it won't make it better, it will still be bad.

Don't try to force the knowledge on others, it won't work.

now there will be people who will remain ignorant or make blanket statements regardless f how many facts you bring to them. In which case you just ignore them and move on.

Be proud that you know what Sonic can do and how it is done. Don't toss away your dignity and pride just because someone disagrees with you.
We don't need to be defensive. our points are known, our information is available. If people wish to accept it, great, if they do not, that's okay, if they disagree, that's good too.

Coming on here is like self-harm sometimes.
Ehh, we should just ignore everyone outside our boards. We only need to help people who come here.

I give up with trying to teach people outside our boards :\
