Brawl in Berlin - henceforth called "BiB" - is a german Brawl tournament presented by Akuma and TMT (please note that Gheb_01 is not a host of this tournament. I'm merely doing the translation work and also try to answer stuff from international players). This toutnament will be Brawl only mainly because there aren't enough Brawl tournaments in germany - not only compared to Melee but also in comparition to the rest of Europe. This tournament is dedicated to Brawl because Brawl is awesome <3
It will be the inofficial succeedor to "Cologne is Brawlin'" (CiB), which took place exatly one year before BiB in Cologne. As the title suggests this time we will be Brawling in Berlin.
The Venue will be openened at Friday the 13th August 12:00 PM and closed on Sunday the 15th around 4 PM. In between you will have about 50 hours time for unlimited fun so make sure to come!
THE VENUE:
Jugendfreizeitstätte TREIBHAUS
Allee der Kosmonauten 170
12685 Berlin
- You can sleep at the venue
- There is at least one shower at the venue
- The venue allows for 100 participants at most
- You must be at least 14 years old to take part
- Alcohol and other drugs are stricktly forbidden!
- Volume must be reduced around 10:00 PM
As you can see the most essential stuff has been taken care of. Housing is not needed as you can sleep at the venue (make sure to bring along your sleeping bags!) and showers are there as well.

7. The loser of the last match may change his character
8. The next match is played.
10. Repeat step 5-7 until the whole set is played
Terminology:
Double Blind Character Pick:
This maybe used when selecting your character. Call a referee to secretly tell him which character you use, then your opponent will do the same. Both players must use the named character.
Stage Striking:
The first stage of a set will be determinded via the stage striking procedure
The first player chooses a stage from the starter pool on which the first match may not be played. Then the second player chooses two stages.
The first player may choose the stage on which the set is started by striking the last stage. The first match will be played on the remaining stage.
Stage Agree:
Both players can play on any stage in the game [even banned stages] as long as both players agree with said stage selection.
Advanced Slob Picks:
After the first match the winner chooses a stage he wants to ban. That stage may not be used for the rest of the set. Then the loser chooses the stage on which the next match will be played. The winner may change his character after the stage selection followed by the loser's character selection.
Daves Stupid Rule:
Unless the opponent agrees you may not chose the last stage on which you won in the same set.
Life Stealing:
Life stealing in teams is allowed.
Set:
Regular sets will be played in best of 3 matches.
Winnerbracket Semifinals, Winnerbracket Finals und Loserbracket Finals are best of 5.
Grandfinals (and GF 2) will be best of 7.
Controlerport and Team Colors:
In case of conflict a team's color will be determined by flipping a coin
The controllerport in teams will be distributed by a 1221 principle. The team that wins the coin flip [or Rock - Paper - Scissorss] may choose between port 1&4 or port 2&3.
In case of colorblindness the colorblind player may choose both team's colors to avoid confusion.
Timeout / Tie:
If the time runs out the winner will be determined by the amount of stocks, then percent. If there's still a tie then a overtime match of 1 stock and 2 minutes will be played.
DQ Rule:
After being called out you must start your set as fast as possible If you're 5 minutes too late you will lose the first match. If you're 10 minutes too late you will lose the entire set.
Start-Button:
The start button may not be pressed durnig a match unless you have a good reason (this includes direct intervention through other players)
Own mistakes are no reason to press the start button.
If the start button is used to distract the opponent, break out of a combo or influence his DI you will
- lose the match if you press start once
- lose the set if you press start twice
Exception: Both players are in a neutral position and the start button has not been pressed on purpose.
Responsibility of the player:
You are responsible for your controller and your gaming tag. You are responsible for your own mistakes. Make sure before the match that your controller configuration and your tag are correct.
If you find a mistake in your configuration it's up to the opponen whether he allows a rematch or not.
You are responsible for all actions that make the game crash. If such a bug occurs it will count as a match loss for the responsible player.
You're responsible to know the rules. If your opponent breaks a rule but you don't call him out or call a referee it's your own fault.
Special Rules and Bans:
Stalling:
Infinite Chaingrabs and Locks must be ended after 300% to not count as stalling. Grab Release Chaingrabs that deal no damage are not allowed.
Ledge-Grab-Limit Rule:
If a match is ended by a time out a player will lose if he has more than 35 ledge grabs (regardless of stocks and precent). Should both players have 35+ ledge grabs the player with more ledge grabs will lose.
The amount of ledge grabs can be seen on the result screen.
Sonic Homing Stall:
It is not allowed to use Sonics neutral B attack to stall underneath a stage.
Infinite Cape Glitch Rule:
Metaknights Infinite Cape Glitch is banned.
Suicide Rule:
Bowsers & Ganondorfs Side-B always count as wins for Bowser or Ganondorf no matter who the game specifies as the winner.
Kirbys, DDDs & Warios Neutral-B will be taken as the game says. If there's a sudden death match then Kirby, DDD and Wario will be taken as winner.
The sudden death will not be played out.
