Let's not forget even if we did get a flat-out no that Sakurai himself spoke similarly about Ridley. If anything we need to keep growing and expanding, and keep the train moving until we get there. The fact that K. Rool and Ridley happened at all should be enough for us to never stop supporting our characters.

Yeah, I'd be careful with that. Not that I think we're getting DQ content, but that is a bit of a stretch. I think what he is saying that it's not DQ, as opposed to DQ is not in the game. Regardless, it's a positive for us.
not particularly about geno, but katalina was basically deconfirmed and vergeben says the minecraft stuff isnt dragon quest builders (which could mean that dragon quest isnt getting anything but thats a biiiiig stretch)

I'm not buying a PS4 just to play Rondo of Blood. And really, the only character that really was promoting something during Smash 4 was Corrin, and he's 1st party. You could argue Cloud, but Sakurai stated his reasoning for choosing Cloud was that 1/3 of votes for a Final Fantasy character were for Cloud.
Yeah, I had a hard time buying the notion that a Japan-exclusive character would get priority, at least not until there's a Western version. Also, I do agree with TBone that it doesn't necessarily mean DQ is deconfirmed either, and so far there's one insider I know of who says DQ with conviction, and chances are it's deliberately false info used to root out fake leakers. I still have faith that it's Geno, but we'll see.

No surprise Geno and Banjo basically tied at first, and both nearly twice as much as sora.

thats just saying nintendo picked the characters, not that theyre only nintendo characters
True but it doesn't look like they're all gonna be third party. Of course I could be wrong but this would mean certain characters' chances are now higher than before.
we have a lot of reason to believe they did, but who knows now. nintendo picking instead of sakurai couldve basically killed some popular character choices but we wont know until 2020

not really. nintendo, since the launch of the switch, has been preeetty in touch with what the fans want. i still have hope but not for anyone other than geno.

they already finished picking, so there isnt really much of a reason to rally for a character. we just have to hold onto hope and wait
Im not sure how i feel about this. Guess we shall wait and see once the first announcement is done.
