Honestly, the thing that makes that leak the hardest to swallow is 3 more Final Fantasy tracks... I have a hard time understanding on why it would come with a DLC pack if we basically get them for free aka added bonus when it's Square we are talking about...

I've thought about that. Ya'll remember when the Smash website had that glitch and accidentally had 2 more slots in addition to the 5 dlc characters. Kind of hoping that's real...
But notice how they say the hero has already appeared, which was not the case.
Then that could fit with Nakoruru... which would be an odd choice for a fourth character after the likes of Joker, Hero, and Banjo...
I mean.. we don¨t have the horror genre represented and Namco is long overdue with another rep :/
Within the Context he’s listing the Characters, their game titles and if their company they are from has already appeared. That’s why for Atlus is says not shown, and for Hero it shows already shown as in Square Enix already has representation. Since his guess around from what he heard for character #4 was that the characters company hasn’t been shown or represented I would guess that would be the female fighting game character he insists on being in which would fit Nakoruru being from SNK in all. Now #5 could be anyone from Leon since Capcom’s represented, Lloyd since Namcos represented, or even Geno since Nintendo and Square have representation. Of course this is if any of that stuff is true.
Great, now I wan't to see Geno dressed up as the Heavy. The idea of geno wielding a minigun is freaking amazing. Makes me wonder what the Medic equivalent would be though(Either Mallow or Peach).

Funny how Geno is among those art pieces. I would love to see the Heavy playable, but I am certainly not expecting it.
Nakoruru would just be such a weird choice. She could be neat, don¨t get me wrong. But push her as a character after the likes of Banjo when Samurai Showdown isn¨t exactly the biggest franchise. There is also the fact that when it comes to female characters in fighting games, Chun-Li is the most iconic one (who actually have somewhat of a follow for Smash)

Alright, to abuse a bit on the etiquette stuff, I'm gonna claim Professor Layton can be the represented character too.
That is both simultaneously cursed but also blessed. Brook's Marth cosplay is amazing and the Sanji one isn't half bad, Choppers and Nami's are okay but everything else is kind of cursed.
If the House was called the Black Starlings, I would give it to them. But I am saying, compared to the other hints we got before, it does not add up.

I get what you're saying. Like I said, his hints are always deliberate, sometimes to an excruciating degree like the crab. Using a super forgettable enemy to tease Link's Awakening is about as vague as you can get but ultimately makes sense in context but, like now, we didn't get the context. In actuality, Link washing up on *checks notes* Koholint Island's shoreline is a very iconic scene in the Zelda canon but we were kind of missing the forest through the trees or, rather, the shoreline through the crabs. We thought the crab was the take-away but it was merely part of the bigger picture. It may be the same case with the bird/starling.
It very well might be, this much I failed to consider (or rather, forgot lol). So thank you for bringing me down a peg. Do you, or anyone, have that picture? I only remember the Crab so I might need a refresher.

I’d say Jane was more-likely a scrapped Kasumi alt. since it included a ponytail and seemed to be formatted for the 6th (maybe 7th since the first may have been 0) costume slot, since it came right after Jack stuff on the same line of code.
I think that's the cause as well, but I wouldn¨t be surprised if it truly was for another character, no matter if its Edelgard or whoever it could be.
I agree that it's Kasumi, but I don't think it was a scrapped alt. But that's an entirely different topic and thread.

I am not sure where Geno would lie IF they were a fighter. Would be awesome to be in the pass, but a Bonus seems more plausible.

There's no reason to believe Mii Costume theory besides Knuckles and Tails coming back with Joker, so I think it makes sense. I also don't think Sakurai really gives a **** about Mii Swordfighter costumes vs others. Is the "representational balance of the Mii fighter costumes" really worth giving a damn about when they're already essentially niche microtransactions? Focus on the characters being chosen, not some arbitrary quota seems like the better way to go given how little they actually matter. And yeah, it would more than likely deconfirm a future Bandai Namco rep, which I see as entirely possible (or maybe imply Dark Souls or another series despite Tales and Tekken being the frontrunners).
I'm still curious about the legitimacy of that specific picture though. Is there any way to really verify that's what it was meant to be all along? That's another moment that seems to be theatrical and suspenseful for the sake of it as opposed to anything else given the complete obscurity of the reference.
I will unironically support Luffy over Goku in Smash Bros. You can do so much more with him than Goku and he's basically an actually decent version of an ARMS rep. If I was picking a Shounen character, he'd be it in a heartbeat. It's probably unpopular as ****, but I'm totally down to nuke the no "outside video games" rule and see where the series takes us at this point. Hell, I think that's how you do something to follow-up Ultimate would just be to abandon the huge roster and go for something like Smash Bros X Jump Superstars that retains the gameplay but overhauls the roster in a genuinely unique way.
We technically have Goku anyway now with Erdick, Ryu with his orange costume and Lucario (who¨s English voice actor is Sean Schemmel)
