I've been weak at playing anything lately. I can't decided whether I want to continue Persona 3, or go on the the Metal Gear solid series, or go on with RE4......... I have too many options, it's overbearing.:(:(:(

I've been playing Touhou recently. I suck at it though. I can't even unlock the extra stage. I've also been practicing my guilty gear tech.

So...............

Who here got the new, simpler Guilty Gear called Blaze Blue?

Starring characters like Not-ky, Not-sol, and even Not-Potemkin?

It's far better than I thought it would be. I'm taking a break now but we were playing pretty much all day. Right now I'm liking Arakune, Rachel, and Carl, probably gonna stick with just those 3. Arakune isn't as broke as Sagat, but he seems pretty good as far as I can tell. But yeah, some characters *coughjinandtagercough* are too similar to the old ones... >_>

Also, Carl is broken. But learning to control 2 characters at once sounds fun for some reason. Can't wait to play it more.

havent got it, probably wont get it unless I absolutely fall in love with Rachel, which I dont foresee happening. She's the only character I think looks fun to play at all. But that's me being me.

You also forgot to mention how Blazblue stars not-May.

:(

___

That carl-loop. From what I'm told, it's kinda ridiculous to do. Like, there's only a handful of people who can set it up and keep it going. Wouldnt be surprised if more people could do it though. (It's presense in the game makes me wonder about playtesting, which I forget how much they did or didnt do for blazblue).

Going on, I hear that loop is on par with El Fuerte's (SF4). Dont know the truth behind that.

____

In other news, Im going to beat Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia today. I like it, it's an interesting lil game. Actually kinda hard too.

Then I think ima start on Star Ocean 4, or maybe Ar Tonelico 2.

I was disappointed with SO4. SO2/3 were much better over all. The story in 4 is meh IMO. The item creation is dumbed down to basically just finding items (similar to kingdom hearts 1). The difficulty is a little lacking (I haven't been through the bonus dungeon yet though).

Don't get me wrong, it's still a good game. It's just not at good as Star Ocean 2 or 3.

You can't be saying that and seriously mean it.
Rachel has to be the most boring looking character in the game. All she does is run around, throws projectiles, wait till you hit something, then runs in and combos you. Then she runs the **** away.

Sounds like Young Link in melee to me. :]

Now, CARL. Looks like crazy fun. Too bad he sucks. T__T

Either way, I'm maining V-13 when I play this game.

I BOUGHT TALES OF DESTINY!

You tell me that the main character doesn't look like Cress in the least bit, and I'll kill you.

well, you see. When people play random game, it outta go here. But when a group of people are trying (lol) to make a crew/locator for a competitive game (like blaz blue) that kinda makes sense.

... A game like blazblue. -rolls eyes- It's kinda funny how it makes sense that it's attracting smashers.

___

But yeah, i finished Order of Ecclesia yesterday. Its so sad, cause even after the **** I had to go through to beat Dracula (read: countless assbeatings because I was too much of a champ to go grind/stock up), I know that he's just going to be back next game.

That's a sad feeling.

___

Now my next goal is to finally finish ToS2. I wish I'da put that game down while I was playing it.

-sigh-

yea, more smashers converting to BlazBlue is pretty funny... yet I'm starting to not enjoy the game already, so i'm gonna jump to KOF 12 in 2 weeks (if my stick will ever be finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

nothing hurts being manly to beat down a boss by being underleveled

It wasnt that I was underleveled as much as it was I just got ***** by ****.

It pretty much took me like, one death to figure out each part of the strat.

T'was fun though. T'was alot of fun. Gotta start working on the extra stuff.

But now -glares at copy of ToS2- ....

Ah, yes. Dracula was a ******. And if you didn't beat with what you needed, he performs a infinite (read: never stops) that will kill you - An All end, will end move.

Still - I loved that game. I liked it more than any other DS castlevanias. This is saying alot what with Dawn of Sorrow being as Top Tier and it is. But it is my opinion. I like how they sorta used the idea of the soul system from AoS/DoS and re-worked it into the Glyph system. The reason why I loved AoS/DoS was due to the mass amounts of abilities that could be gained. I was reliving Superstar/SMB3 because of the TONS of abilities.

I'd say, the most attracting thing to me would be abilities. Which is a wonder why Prototype didn't get to me like I thought it would.

Anyway - on the note of BlazBlue. The game is fun to play. Starts off simple, but in the end is, by no means, simple. My friend Pacstrife compared it to Smash Bros. Forgot his reasoning, though....

well in one of the words of a Guilty Gear pro, Flash Metroid. he says, "A Down syndrome Guilty Gear" -mostly he hates it. Basically the combos are a lil more simpler to execute and memorize cuz of it's control layout. even the most complex ones can be memorized easily with practice. and people are attracted cuz it has anime like drawings and stuff (points to Rachel)

1) You say flash like we dont know who he is around here (we being GA Melee). He's been up here to a few tourneys with us. HELL MIKE G AND I WANTED TO WATCH HIM **** FACE WITH MAY IN FRXII THIS YEAR IF IT WASNT FOR SOME NONSENSE THAT CAME UP. o_o -throws chair-

2) Yeah Mike G, that's what everybody's saying about it. Easier execution, easier combos (apparently _____ cancelling is easier, and isnt needed for any bnbs anyway?), and a super wack burst system.

__

I still wanna play it myself, cause I've told people since the joybox vids dropped that rachel looked too **** good to be true. Sure enough, May's cousin comes outta nowhere. (Easy *** combos where you can drop them and still do a ****ton of damage. Go lazy!)

there's not many combos in BB that require cancels (unless you're creative and have 2 cancels to spend, 100% heat). some are like dash cancels and random gravity bs combos (see hokuto no ken). and stupidly easy combos to perform (a la Tager's 2B -> 2C -> 623C -> walk 6C -> D -> and maybe another 623C all for massive damage lolz)

Sorta happy to see MvC2 was released on XBLA/PSN. I got it - never played it in my life.

Seems like a lot of fun when I watch my friends play it at the arcade. That, and it seems broken as hell.

*plays a few matches*

Broken as hell confirmed.

;_;

-laughs hysterically at zio-

Yup, welcome to the wonderful world of MvC2.

Its actually still kool to watch, especially when you actually learn the strategy that goes behind it (how zoning actually works, the idea of punishing assists as opposed to punishing point characters, etc etc).

People give it alot of flak (hell, I still crack my jokes), but it's actually fairly entertaining to watch.

... as long as storm isnt involved. XD

__

In other news, I havent played Ar Tonelico 2 in like, 2 days. Im actually pretty sad about that, Im going to play it 2morrow.

Game is mad fun. Story is pretty random though (I've typed this like, 9308923084 times, so I dont know if i've already talked about this game here).

The battle system is literally ar tonelico (the good parts) + valkyrie profile 2 + paper mario 2. It's fun.

PERFECT GUARD LIKE A CHAMP.

Ever heard of La Mulana? It's another freeware game, like Cave Story. In the same vein too; a Castleroid. Certainly worth a look.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a copy that I could put on my PSP. This here would be the 1st game I'd play on my PC. Odd for me. I don't like trying to play with this keyboard!:mad::mad:

And as a plus, this game is a difficult one.

I'm currently playing Zelda:Twilight Princess.

I am stuck on the statue puzzle right before you get the master sword...

I refuse to use walkthroughs or anything of the sort.

Defeats the purpose of Playing Zelda.

Better hope I just...get lucky, y'know?

And MvC2 is awesome. Love it, even though I've only played it on emulator, and once at my friend's place on his 360.

How's the online?

i've been playing Muramasa: The Demon Blade (japanese version)... and it's been too awesome and mindless fun. I just wish there were translations for all the special attacks for each blade associated as u collect. so if you like Odin Sphere (or ever herad of it) then you'll like this game (which are the same developers for muramasa).

and hopefully, there's some hackers doing a translation patch for Front Mission 5 and get it done (Japan only release of turn based mech fighting, waaay more strategic than Super Robot Wars series)

mvc2 online is like.... so-so i guess, i heard it's like HD Remix netcode

Muramasa is awesome, the end. Cant remember if I said that when I got back from e3, but I know I've been saying it since they announced it.

Front Mission 5? I mean yeah FM is better than SRW, that's not hard to do, but after FR4, i'd rather wait and see. 4 dropped the ball preeeeeeeetty **** hard.

IMO it wasnt that fun to play.

It's clearly a biased opinion, cause honestly 3 and 4 were the only ones I played (and I didnt give 4 a good chance), but compared to other sRPGs, I just didnt have any fun whatsoever with 4. Where as 3 is one of my favorites.

And sRPG is my favorite genre of game.

.... I need to play more though. XD

MvC2 is sorta broken online (and off, actually)... Like sometimes characters you didn't even choose will appear onscreen for no reason, and other times people's names will be blacked out or some other weirdness. Also ours freezes a lot, specifically when I use Blackheart (???).

But regardless of that stuff MagnetoStormPsylocke is still a good team...
