(this blurb has no untagged spoilers for the series. I'll be the first to admit the series has some rough patches, but the Movie is easily the best part of it since Season 3. I highly recommend watching it)
Spinel, voiced by Sarah Stiles is a character in the Steven Universe franchise. She made her debut and most important appearance in 2019's Steven Universe: the Movie, with a few side appearances in the Sequel Series Steven Universe Future. Spinel is an antagonistic force who has a grudge with Steven's dead mother, Rose Quartz. Unlike other villains, who don't quite get that Steven isn't Rose, Spinel knows and doesn't care. She came to Earth with a bioweapon that would wipe out all organic life within a day, and wiped the memories of the three gems closest to Steven (and herself). Her vendetta is rather understandable: Steven's mother forgot about her, leaving her to literally rot on an abandoned planet for almost 6000 years, unable to even move.
She's got a new style, and a few new Toys!
Spinel would have a very unique playstyle in a platform fighter. Her core ability is her stretchiness, she can manipulate her body into doing almost anything. She would have far more aggressive, ruthless versions of those attacks than other shapeshifters. Her moves would also be reminiscent of 1930's animation, which is She also has a scythe, called the Rejuvinator. This tool is capable of wiping the memories of gems, but for the sake of gameplay (and being useful on characters not from the series), it would probably just be a scythe (perhaps with the ability to make a fighter unable to use some moves). There's also standard gem stuff that could be used if need be, like bubble formation
With Multiversus's focus on alternate costumes, that's something that should be mentioned. Spinel has two notable looks: her current one (as seen at the top of this thread) and Rejuvinated Spinel (her "factory settings" appearance, so to speak). For simple alternate colors, we could take from other gems like the Diamonds.

Steven Universe is known for it's songs, and Spinel is no exception. Two of her songs, Other Friends and Drift Away, are some of the most beloved songs from across the entire series.
