Gathering clips for a Shulk community combo video

Hey all, I am interested in doing a Shulk community combo video. I know it has been done in the past, but since nobody is actively (to my knowledge) interested in doing something like this I feel it would be an awesome project we can tackle as a Board. The reason I am creating this thread, is because I think this is the best way to reach out too as many competent shulk's as I can.

If you would be interested in taking part in this project, I would appreciate it. If you are a bit skeptical about me, know this isn't the first community video I've done. I know my way around adobe premiere, vegas, and after effects, and recently did the DK 2016 Community Combo Video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFFY0APYuCo . I've been editing since around Brawl and since I am a dedicated Shulk main I feel I can do a video like this justice.

With that dumb stuff above, if you would be interested in submitting for this, there's three easy ways to do so: you can add my NNID (apathy95) and send it there, you can post videos and gyf's in this thread, or you can talk to me on the shulk discord, twitter ApathySSB ApathySSB , or skype (alphxpollock). If you can, submit it with a tag and, if you have one, twitter @. As always, I'll be keeping you up to date on the editing regularly, so you guys can give me feedback on what you think of it.

So with that outta the way, the due date I am proposing is April 19th, though I will move it behind if I don't receive enough clips. Shulk's of all skill level are encouraged to submit, though some support from some of you bigger names would be epic too. Rest assured your prized clips are in good hands.

I'm pretty excited to work with you guys if you give me the chance.

Pribably gonna extend it. The deadline is just in place to get people to submit when they can, the REAL deadline is just when I have more then enough.

This sounds pretty cool! I'm not sure I have a whole lot to contribute, but I'll go back through my replays and see what might be nice to highlight.

I thought it was neat how Shulk's aerials beat out Hadoken at 0:33 and 0:47.
This is also when I started practicing reverse Air Slash more and pulled one off at 1:22 to take the first stock.
There's also a fun little string of attacks starting at 1:31 using the Speed Art: f-throw, u-smash, u-tilt, b-air, b-air, and then Ryu didn't recover :p.

I actually wasn't playing too well here (also, this is 1.1.4), but the highlight here is at 0:50 when I used Buster art with down smash to break shield at edge and caused Marth to fall to his death.

Out of curiosity, does the sound matter for the clips? I have a couple but they're mostly taken from streams, so I can't really go back and remove background music.

Half my replays got murdered by the last update, but I'll be compiling some stuff over the next few days that might be worth something.

AlvisCPU AlvisCPU nah background music doesn't matter to me. I prefer it without it but worst case scenario I can go back and add sound fx to a clip if I really need it. You can send pretty much anything as long as it's not 3ds or camera recorded.

Alrighty. So as I said, update killed my replays, but I've managed to salvage these ones. As such, most are from the same event and have the stream overlay... ehh. I'm just gonna throw a bunch of stuff at you.

My tag in tournaments (for now, at least) is just Shulk. If you use any of my replays and the tag overlaps with anyone else by chance, just go AlvisCPU.

Some of these ones below aren't exactly combos, but just really dumb kills. Probably some of my proudest moments playing Smash.

3:20 - I was an idiot and forgot how Pac-Man works. Worked out though. "Saved his life just to disrespect his family..."
5:15 - I know that the Hydrant can sometimes work against Pac-Man, but has to be one of the most ridiculous KOs I've ever seen. So glad it was caught on stream.
7:30ish - Buster string Nair -> jab combo -> dash attack, 12 seconds, 52% -> 141%, hydrant-assisted KO.

I need to watch this back but my internet's being dumb right now so I actually haven't seen this yet. Not sure if there's any good combo content. I'm probably getting bodied the whole time (it was against the best player in the scene), but Game 2 at about 1:07:00 ended in a massive Vision. You kinda expect this kind of thing from Shulk's down-B, but it was ridiculously hype and a huge turnaround. His disrespect backfired in the worst way. The upset of the century was coming in Game 3 but he pulled it back. The dream is dead.

18:12 - Buster being Buster, weird double-hit dsmash and fsmash destroying, then a get-up read shortly after. It was the only match in the video that actually went my way, heh.
And before I forget, on top of these, I played a match against Peahnuts (he says he knows you?) and he said he submitted it to you. I don't remember if there was anything good in the match, though I remember that I finally got the ol' FF uair1 -> fsmash.
