We all know old Ganny's in Brawl, my question is what his role in SSE would be. The obvious answer would be teamed up Bowser and Wario in the Subspace army, as its assumed they, and oter villains, are. But I'd like to think that Sakurai doesn't just label character's Good or Bad and put them on opposite sides, he's actually consider what the characters would do.
As any Zelda fan would tell you Ganondorf's none to enthusiastic about having team-mates to share his glory. Since the original it has just been Ganon with armies of minions, they only times he has teamed up with other villains, Vant and Vaati, he has been controling them from behind the scenes and always means to betray them for his own gain. To be openly part of the Subspace Army, let alone serving under the Ancient Minister, is very out of character for him.
On the other hand, he could find the Subspace Army a threatening force that must be destroyed, in which case he would side with the heroes, finding others equal to himself enough to team up with them is very unlike him, and the fact that he has never teamed up with heroes to fight a larger force is something that makes him such a great villain.
Of course he could be on his own, neautral side, wanting to destroy both sides, but he has always remained in the shadows, controling goings-on without showing his face, until Link comes to challenge him however, Ganon has only ever attacked Link when he has come at him.
Though the whole story of Smash is ment to be a child playing with toys, so anythings possible really, but it'd still be nice to have him acting the way he would and should.
