I played as him as a joke, never went him b4, but I thought that his foxtrot is faster than his runnin speed, is this true?

Don't foxtrot in Brawl. It causes tripping.
Actually Fox trotting has one use, approaching with F-smashes. But I don't think that's particularly useful for Ganondorf.

Just use regular running, and dash attack to gain more ground aswell.
