Games you feel are UNDERpriced

While I agree that many games these days are overpriced and/or a waste of effort on the devs' part (such as the current Mario spin-offs, many unfinished games, or remakes that are ground up but don't change much functionally), I'm just sick of hearing "Game X is overpriced!" all the time.

So let's do the opposite: what games do you think are underpriced instead? What are some games that give you so much value for your money, that you feel at least slightly guilty that you're not supporting the devs' work enough with the asking price?

TBH, Tears of the Kingdom feels so meaty that I would've actually paid more than the "premium" $70. Even the old world of BotW has much of the things to find rearranged to the point that it feels like ALBW by its lonesome.

CTR Nitro Fueled base game being 40 or 50 (dont remember which) at launch was surprising. A high quality remake of pretty much 2 games with promised (& delivered) post launch significant content was definitely worth the standard (at the time) 60.

Could probably throw some more cheaper indie games into the mix. The one for me that stands out is Palworld. Retailing for 30 (plus had a launch period couple dollars off sale) yet myself & many other put more time into it than alot of full priced games.

The Gunman Clive two games on 3DS were both underpriced but so worth it for the price they sold.

Just looked it up and they were just $2 each. That only seems to amount for a side hustle for the creator.

I do feel like most indie games are underpriced in general. 90% of them shouldn’t be at any price point under than 20 dollars.
TBF, some indie studios WANT to stay small just to preserve their more intimate, personal culture. Many are aware now that capitalism is a corrupting force for most who can't handle it.

Valve wanted to get big and retain its small culture, now they have nearly no motivation to make games anymore in favor of just maintaining Steam.

Also, Game Freak has shown no ambition to make another big IP, with their non-Pokémon projects being rather small. It's clear they're only using their stake in Pokémon to pay the bills.

Undercharging for a game is very different from wanting to stay a smaller studio- I can guarantee even if they want to stay small basically no indie game companies want to have less money.

I get what you're saying, but these two sentences feel completely contradictory of one another
What I'm saying is that they're not taking advantage of their Pokémon money to fund bigger operations outside of Pokémon. Tembo for example is pretty much an indie game in terms of scale.

No one wants to have less money, but there is the sentiment that having too much will change an organization's culture beyond reasonable limits.

The game that always comes to mind for me is The Guardian Legend on NES.

One of best games on the system, offers a unique take on the Zelda/Shump/RPG formula that's never been really replicated* since, has a lot of QoL features that were ahead of it's time, has a cute female protagonist, awful USA box art, never been ported/is in legal limbo, cult-classic developer that is now defunct, etc.

It appears on pretty much every NES Hidden Gem list, but only averages about $15 in value. By all means, it pretty much checks off every box that would normally make a game sought after by even casual enthusists. This has always been a head-scratcher to me.

*Wayford's Sigma Star Saga comes the closest, but really only on a basic surface level and no one played that game either.

Playing on Xbox Game Pass feels like stealing. It is an incredible deal. Most of the games run well on a laptop, too, so you don't need a super powerful PC to get your money's worth.
And it arguably is undervalued because Xbox has been among those hit the hardest by the layoffs and closures.

Know i may be the minority but liked HiFi Rush so much on GamePass that i bought the full game to support the studio. Hell id probably be considering getting the physical edition at some point if they still existed. Another area of that burn for me that i didnt even think of.

Super Mario Odyssey's post-game (and several post-release updates) feels like a massive DLC pack by itself. Now I understand why the devs didn't make any paid DLC for the game.

A lot of it is very repetitive, granted, but the moons hidden by post-game "rooms" and puzzles are still fun.
