GameCube controller problem (triggers)

I got a brand new gc controller for ultimate (it is the ultimate edition version) and it worked fine for a month. First, my b button stopped clicking for no discernible reason. Second (and the worst problem), occasionally when I press the trigger, it requires a lot more pressure to push down before it clicks. Anyone else have these problems?

Maybe there's dust or dirtiness inside the controller? If you know to assemble and disassemble it, then try to do so and clean it up. If not, try to go to the store you bought it to get it fixed or replaced.
