Earlier this week, tournament organizer Bassem “Bear” Dahdouh announced via twitter that both Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros for Wii U will be making appearances at Game Tyrant Expo 2017.
Taking place in Salt Lake City, Utah from September 29 to October 1, GTE2017 will be organized with the help of Bear and Matthew “MattDotZeb” Zaborowski, with the former handling the Wii U brackets and the latter handling Melee.
In addition to a large stadium setting seen on Game Tyrant Expo’s twitter, each Smash tournament will feature a considerable $25,000 prize pool. A handful of tournaments for other eSports titles such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and some games yet to be revealed, will be hosted at GTE2017. As Bear mentioned in his announcement, the last week of September is shaping up to be a fantastic time for Smash, and eSports in general.
More GTE2017 news is set to arrive sometime in the next month, so stay tuned!
