Starting from 5th place, one of the biggest signs of Boston's college scene producing high level players, was Squible from Northeastern University. Squible's Jigglypuff did a fantastic job upsetting seasoned players including Ryu Cloud and Dudutsai. The latter is held among New England's best Jigglypuff players, so this was quite the surprise!
Rhode Island's own Ryu Cloud had a great run on his way to 5th, citing a recent breakthrough in his mental game for his improvement. On the winners side, he moved through up-and-coming Ganon-main Lord Buns, Mr. Lemon, and MattDotZeb before fellow 5th-placer Squible sent him to losers. He then defeated MIT's X-Pilot and Brickman (visiting New England for the summer from North Carolina) finally tasting defeat at the hands of Nuro.
MIT's former Captain YCZ6 made his actually-final appearance at a Game Over, reaching a solid 4th place. His list of wins include UMB's rising star Klaps, SoCal's DJ Mirror, Sora, and Squible. However, he was double-eliminated by Nuro's Sheik.
Long time member of the Smash Community, Nuro, achieved 3rd place here. Secret Sauce and YCZ6 couldn't stop him as he moved through winners to face off with Mafia in Winners Semi-Finals. In losers, Ryu Cloud and YCZ6 both were knocked out by him. Mafia proved to be too much again and knocked him out in Losers Finals.
His 3rd Game Over in a row, and 3rd consecutive 2nd place ranking, Mafia has shown he truly deserves a spot as one of the Boston-area's best. His list of victories includes Hart, Sora, and Nuro on his way to Winners Finals vs Zoso. Once again he defeated Nuro in Losers Finals and lost to Zoso in Grand Finals.
Holding onto his 1st place title, Zoso stomped the competition away. This is the 7th consecutive win at Game Over. There's not much more to say. Can anyone stop this man? This week Hero, DJ Mirror, BigVegetaBluntz, Squible, and Mafia (with two attempts) could not.
