Wario's ground game does get a boost when he unleash the tire ****. He gains frame advantage whether you shield it or you it hits you directly. And with proper positioning, they are very threatening active hit boxes when they bounce; requiring you to give up space or respond to the tire. Like I said, by default :gw: has a better ground game imo. When Wario get's the tires out, it shifts over to his advantage. Neither character's advantage in this department is staggering though. Their ground games are just too lackluster as a whole to REALLY shift the MU dramatically in anyone's favor. Ground vs ground battles are not going to be that common in this MU anyway.
Quick question, doesn't G&W upair's wind hitbox clash with tires, i.e. make them vanish?

Yes, it does.

Good luck getting into the position to do that without risking being punished though. Down-Throwing tires is generally Wario's best use for them although they do use Up-Throw occasionally. Glide Tossing tires Forward also has some nifty uses for him.

We don't get anything unless he is above the ledge or mashing up.

His feet need to be off the ground to be gr and gw is too short

But, if you manage to somehow air release him, you can use Usmash for the kill or nair for the damage or just don't care and go for a 9.

You mean like force an air release? Probably if you can catch them in a slope it should be possible. You can just look at his feet. I've never actually tried that though.

Glut mashed out with a jump input, that's what caused the aerial release.
His feet were touching the ground.

The stupid thing about slopes is that there's usually a platform above them(Halberd, Frigate, Yoshi's, Lylat... kind of)
It does work on the first part of Castle Siege, some parts of Delfino and the outside slopes of YI.
