what is that anyways.
Basically sais that if you cant beat Rayku's Ike, you are not worthy of being on the power rankings. Doesnt matter if you place really well and if you place higher than him. If you dont pass the barlie you are not worthy.

Its a good thing we have other people who decide who is on the PR and not just Rayku.

It's not even set in stone, Dyno. Apparently most people don't like it, so it probably won't even be used.

Beat Artdude in a 5 dollar MM D3 vs DK *no infinites or smallstep*
Lost Desu in a 5 dollar MM IC's vs MK
i'll go ahead and tell you, MK v ICs is heavily in MKs favor, even if you know the cg for him. lain/meep feel its 50:50 because they play it on a daily basis and have reached the point where every matchup is at least 50:50. for the rest of us, its at least 60:40 (on a good day).

TBH I just went into the match with the wrong mentality. I also fumbled a lot of cg's and was just really on my game. Tim completely outplayed me, and even though I basically had him beat *was up 99% to like 20* he managed to come back and beat me. I feel that I need to play more mk's and more of the matchups I use Ic's for, If I think I'm going to have any sort of chance against someone that's actually GOOD with said character. That being said I take full responsibility for my loss, and only hope to get better with the character. Not gonna drop Ice climbers, they're too fun lol.

don't matchups assume high levels of play?
that's like saying if you suck at street fighter, zangief is top tier because he can grab you on wake-up 100% of the time and is unbeatable

if top players say it's 50-50, it's 50-50

maybe MK is hard for YOUR ICs, but it's not hard for ICs in general

I actually agree with Henry about the matchup. What Metaknight can potentially do to Ice Climbers is depressing to watch.

Meep vs. Mew2King is all I'll say about that.

This isn't really PR talk, so I would advise taking it to the Waba thread :/

i don't think you should've beat artdude personally. redo that mm
Uhhh...I don't think it should have happened either, but it did. You can't tell someone to try and change the results by re-doing it.

Like, I don't think 4Leaf should have passed my barline but he did, but I'm not demanding he take it again

You're right, and we will re do it tomorrow.
But afterwrads, you wont have anything to say, I'll make sure of it.:psycho:

Nah, he's right. First game was silly, and then he just cp'd himself <__<.
He already asked to re do it at combo breaker, and I accepted.

If you can't beat Rayku's Ike then you don't deserve to have your name on the list of best players in GA. The PR is supposed to represent not only the best players in the state, but to also show other regions who the players they need to fear when they get them in brackets at regional tournaments. Why would anyone fear a player that doesn't know how to beat an Ike?

Beating Ike is one of the most simplest things to do, and the problem that most people have against him is that they over complicate it. Keep in mind that he is a low tier character, and he has very limited options in many situations. If you can't beat an Ike, it's basically saying you don't know the basic defensive options, you don't understand spacing, and you don't know how to abuse character weaknesses/strengths. Perhaps it's not that extreme, but if you had those foundations, you should NEVER lose to Rayku's Ike.

Here are some things to keep in mind when fighting Rayku's Ike:
1) All he does is space forward airs and then jabs upon landing
2) Sometimes he mixes it up with a tomahawk (jump, land, grab), and if you aren't on autopilot, you should be able to react to this.
3) When he wants to tech chase you, he does his forward-B. It's pretty much guaranteed, so avoid the situation where you are forced to land on the ground and roll, or just make sure you tech.
4) Sometimes he will randomly forward-B to see how you will react to it. Don't stay on the ground. Go to platforms on platform stages or grab the ledge. He can cover a **** ton of ground options if you just sit there.

Basically all you got to worry about is him spacing his forward air. To beat this, all you gotta do is walk towards him when he jumps and is about to forward air. Power shield the hit, and you can basically do whatever you want to him while he lags. Once you do this, he basically has no options to hit you. Pretty ****ing awesome.

that.... is all 100% correct and will be very useful when i take the barline.

apparently artdude just fell off a ledge and killed himself when he had an 100% lead last stock

@BBQ - that makes him sound auto-pilot, he can figure out your patterns and punish, that has nothing to do with ike, but just skill level.

Everything you said was true, BBQ, about the barline, except when you personally started insulting my skill level with a character. Granted, I'm not very good with him, but the only reason you noticed those habits when I was playing you is because they were working. I wouldn't continue those ******** habits if you just learned how to avoid them. Mix it up on me, I'll mix it up on you. I'm not just some ******** readable book.

Ike is a low tier character for a reason.

BBQ, that is like saying that everyone that loses to my Yoshi should not be on the PRs since I am beating them with a low tier character.

Except you're decent with the character you MAIN. You go through with effort to learn matchups and better your character. The people you lose to (a lot of them) DO beat you because they're exploiting your character's weaknesses. I know that's how I do it.

I don't lose to that many people here that aren't considered good already. Yeah, I lost to random people when I was still fresh in the community, but I was still fairly underdeveloped. Your character can easily exploit my character's weaknesses, which is why I have so much trouble vs you.

Okay, that's just talking about yourself. That has nothing to do with the PR

Alby, it doesn't matter if I "should of won". Don't let these guys take rep from you man. You beat me fair and square. Even if two stupid things lost me the match, I performed those two mistakes and they cost me. You were the better player than me that night. My man Alby, don't let them hate. I'll see you tomorrow hopefully :D

I didn't mean to insult your skill level at all. You and I both know that you are a very solid player despite which character you are using. I was mostly emphasizing that Ike is so limited that it hardly matters how many mixups or whatever is required. I just oversimplified it in my post. I'm not going to write out a detailed summary of "How to Beat Rayku and his Ike", but rather give the large picture and once one understands that concept, one should be able to work from there and figure out the rest. I'm saying that not many mixups are required because fighting Ike is more of a Rock/Paper/Scissors game and not a Rock/Paper/Scissors/+3 other options game (well... kinda). I'd like to take the barline some time.

And Scatz, you are pro.

Don't encourage him. Make him salty so he ****s up on the next go round. If anything, mention him getting KO'd off the top of FD at 93%.

Sure, you can take the barline again (for no reason, you don't play the game).

@Umby: That was before ArtDude's time :(

Eh... well I'm not big on the salt and fire etc etc. I'm content with encouraging Alby to perform as well as I know he can. Who knows... some confidence could be all he needs to end his inconsistencies. I'll be good cop and you guys can be the bad cop.
