This is what my idea was, essentially, and BigLou thinks it's dumb.
Basically, if you can't beat my Ike as a barline, you won't even be considered to be put on the Power Rankings. I think that sounds fair.
BigLou just says "What if they're bad against Ike" as his logic.

actually what comes to mind for me as the problem ( I don't really care for a barline or not, it will not sway my decision as to where I would personally place them on the pr.) is a few different things. I will personally not view defeating your ike as my standard to which I will want to put people on the pr. I will base it off evidence of tournament placements and consistency as well as who beats who, the same way that pretty much all power rankings are made.
You mentioned to me that, if someone say can't beat your ike for whatever reason they would be disregarded from bring on the pr. You also told me that some exceptions for this barline were enlisted, such that if someone that places high loses to your ike for whatever reason. You either go all the way with this or not, there is no exceptions.
Like I said, this may help you as being part of the panel to decide whether or not you feel should be on the power rankings, but I will be using my own methods to do this.

Think of it like the Melee barline. No one has qualms over that, probably because there is no representation to give other than donating to Sleepy's church
If they were making the Melee Power Rankings *hint*, would you honestly want to put someone who can't beat SleepyK's Mewtwo on the power rankings?
Replace that with me, and you get:
Would you honestly want someone who can't beat Rayku's Ike to be put on the Power Rankings? BBQ is constantly concerned about the image of GA's Brawl scene and him not wanting it to look bad.

I don't have "qualms" about the melee barline because I'd like to show my actual skill and work in a tournament enviroment where a lot of things are on the line, (including spots on prs). You have your methods for deciding what you think (and like I said it's fine that you want to do the barline challenge, and I have no problem with people doing it with you) deem fit for being on the power rankings. Our lists for who should go where will turn out similarly anyways, because me and you have a good idea as to who is better then who.
I'm saying I personally wouldn't be taking it too seriously if I were to take this barline challenge, because being on the power rankings doesn't mean too much to me, I'm all about action. If I were to drop off the pr for losing to your ike I still would be placing consistently in tourney.
Go ahead and do the barline challenge, like I said I am not stopping you.
I think it's a healthy experiment.
In regards to your personal thing, I think everyone here knows that you can beat my Ike with whatever character you want, so that's hardly a good hypothetical.
@Kismet: I beat your Snake with Ike, therefore no power rankings for it

I didn't care for your respect in the first place. It's just that your post is pretty mean to people that have problems to get taken care of or to people that are already working hard to attempt to be on the PRs. I love you too and all, but letting hatred of a game get in the way of showing respect to others is pretty ****ed up.

Ok.... well I'm glad they are working hard, but I think what I meant by respect is that I don't view them as a *top* player unless they are in the current top 5. I'd feel good about sending our top 5 to an OoS tournament and expect to see solid results. I still respect all players for working hard but I can't respect them for being a good player (strong emphasis on "good").
