Not really a fox main, just curious as to what people think is fox's worst matchup.

Fox is Fox's worst MU.

Fox always wins.

Nah but serious answer though. I think Fox struggles the most with Marth, but only on FD. That CG can be brutal, and if you get sloppy, the Marth can just DD away from everything and then punish you with a grab.

It comes down to either Marth or Falco but I think Falco is his worst matchup because the Marth matchup depends heavily on stage (e.g. Marth wins on FD, Fox wins on Dreamland and the rest are more or less even imo) but Falco has a strong punish game on Fox on every stage.

I personally think it's Marth. I think that on Battlefield arguably the most neutral stage), the matchup is even/ in fox's favour, however I want to go over which stages you will actually play on:
Game 1:
Marth Strikes: DL, BF
Fox Strikes: FD, FoD
This leaves you on YS or FoD, both of which are in Marth's favour IMO.

Fox's counterpick (Bo3)
Marth bans DL
Fox picks BF, I say Fox wins by a bit on this stage.

Marth's CP (Bo3)
Fox bans FD, Marth goes to whichever of FoD, YS, or PS he wants to, all of which are in his favour IMO.

Fox's CPs (Bo5)
Fox goes to Dreamland, which is in his favour
(If already won on DL): BF, Fox wins by a bit.

Marth's CPs (Bo5)
FD, we know who wins here
(If already won on FD): any of FoD, YS, or PS

As one of the top 5 characters in the game, he doesn't really have any disadvantaged match-ups. He does have challenging ones though, and if you don't know what you're doing simply being Fox is not enough. You will get beat into the pavement if you don't know how to exploit weaknesses in match-ups and properly utilize Fox's strengths.

Awkward match-ups that can catch you off guard: Samus, Luigi (*FD especially), Ice Climbers (*Wobbling especially), Ganon (*his range can be problematic if you're unfamiliar with the MU)

Match-ups that are close to even or slight advantage for Fox can all be potentially problematic. It depends on your playstyle, their playstyle, and what character they play. Just saying "Fox wins" is not the same as being able to beat them all in tournament, you need to know how. If you don't...Marth, Sheik, Fox, Puff, Peach, Falcon can VERY easily send you home, 0-2 with a pat on the back.

What is the Samus matchup anyways? Is it even?

Samus is even or 55 in Fox's favour. Both answers are acceptable and have good reasoning. The main concern vs Samus is everything that makes Fox amazing either doesn't work (uthrow combos, upB oos beats shield pressure) or is highly inconsistent (dair is SDIed, nair is easily CCed, gimping is rare).

Only thing left is lasers and playing a solid % racking game. But it's lame and slow and no Foxes aside from DJ Nintendo has the patience to do it consistently against the best Samuses. Leffen and others get rocked, Armada just goes Peach.

And do missiles somewhat make fox's camping a bit more difficult?

Not at all. They can be nullified with nair / bair when close, or safely reflected with shine from further away. They are more linear / more damaging turnips in that their best characteristic is that they make you move. As you try to avoid them with jumps / shields / shines, Samus moves in and pressures you. Missiles (like turnips and boomerang) are really for inciting action and punishing the avoidance, rather than hitting your opponent outright.

Fox moves too fast to worry about most of this anyway, and shine is an easy long-range answer.

Marth, no question. It's either even or in Marth's extremely slight favor.

Marth on FD only. Falco is harder on other stages generally. It's debatable over what the fox/falco matchup is (even is close enough), but falco has it easier than marth on platform stages at top level. And I say this knowing that marth was blessed with all the tools to body spacies.
