The old rules we had where out of date and spread out, so I figured it was time to make a new topic.
First off, what is place?
This is the Forum Games. The Forum Games is a room where people can, as you have probably surmised by now, play games. These range from “Caption the picture” to the more advanced Mafia/RPG/Adventure games (these go in the Decisive Game subforum). All games are welcome, as long as it isn’t a duplicate.
This is not a room for video game discussion, that is in the Light House.
Forum Game Rules
1. This is called Forum Games, which means your thread has to be both a game, and playable in this room.
Examples of a game: Mafia, Captioning, Post a better picture, <V game
Examples of not-games: Post a nonsense word, List (fill in the blank), nonsense games (http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=122729), games that will end in loops, Counting games.
If you have a question about if your thread is a game or not, post it here.
2. Do not post your signature
As most posts here are only a few lines in length, the signature gobbles up more bandwidth then it is worth. While everyone makes mistakes, repeated offenders will be warned. If you post your signature in a game that doesn’t allow editing, don’t edit it out. We don’t go on massive sweeps and warn eery signature we see on sight, we look at each post individually
3. Purposefully ruining a Mafia/Adventure game is worth temp-bans
We’re not kidding around on this one. These games take time and effort, and last for months of constant playing by all sides. People get invested in them. If you purposefully ruin one (Example: illegally PMing people with information, being mafia and posting all the mafia members names in the thread, getting information out of dead players, being town and talking to other members through PMs or AIM about the game, ect), you will be warned severely, depending on what it is you did. Even non-purposeful ruining will get warned, although not as much.
4. All Elimination games are banned
These are the games where you vote for a character to be eliminated, or vote for them to not be eliminated. Since these are generally fill with spam, they are not allowed.
Update: However, we can only have one elimination game for each category. No multiple "Nintendo character elimination" games, even if you do have more/different nintendo characters then someone else.
5. Have fun
Anyone who breaks this rule is instantly banned
All SWF rules are enforced here as well, unless noted in a thread and approved by a Forum Games moderator.
Mafia Games
The dawn of 2006 brought with it a gift sweeter the love of a smashboardian named Matt: Mafia games. Drab Emordinlap created the first one, and since then over a dozen different members have gone through the time and effort to create and start their own.
These games, along with adventure goes, go in the Decisive Game's subforum.

Adventure games started with The Thing, a freeform adventure game I created (and has yet to be resolved). As these games take a very long time, and require constant activity, they will also go in the Decisive Game subforum.
The Moderators
The Moderators for the Forum Games are Bahamut and Eor (myself!). However, at the moment Bahamut is off enjoying his marriage, and until he comes back I am the only active Forum Mod. If you have a question about anything that isn’t for this thread, free welcome to PM me or both of us.
This Thread
As stated, this thread is for questions relating to the Forum Games, from games to the rules. So, post away any suggestions/comments/questions you have. Unlike the Question and Suggestion thread in the Pool Room, anyone is welcome to answer them, although remember that a moderator has final say, and that following someone’s advice does not relieve you for breaking a rule. If you're wondering if your game will get closed, wait for a moderator to answer it
