Final Fantasy Character Proposal

Its very tedious to go to all the different Final Fantasy threads in this community so....
I was thinking hey why dont I make a thread that puts everything in a nut shell. I am also interested to see what people think. Besides making this one thread kills like 70 birds with one stone and prevents people making Official Threads about lets say for an example wyvern. Oh My Gawsh! Wyvern rox he will totally be in Brawl!! Lets start a thread on this!.... No I want just one thread so any ways from what I gather majority of the Smash Community wants the following Final Fantasy related characters as an AT or a PC:

1. Moogle (Why he has a chance? Well he came out in alot of Mario games as a guest character or a cameo appearance... Moogles is also a big icon to the series)

2. Black Mage (Well... same reason as Moogle)

3. White Mage (Same as Moogles, yet i cannot imagine her move set)

4. Ninja (He/ She is cool and came with the game Mario 3 on 3 Hoops

5. Cactuar (Came out in Mario 3 on 3 Hoops, turns out to be a popular enemy)

6. All the Protagonists in FF 1-12 ( they have a good chance because 1-6 were remade as a GBA/ DS games, 7 Cloud because he is the icon for arguably the best FF game ever, 8-11 Unsure... Havent played it so... an ignorant man has no right to talk about it..., 12 Vaan well... it is the most recent FF and has a lot of cameo appearances so...meh)

7. Sora (There is a GBA game and a future DS game of Kingdom Hearts)

8. Riku (Well I personally do not see him in Brawl... maybe an AT if Sora is a PC like the Snake and Wolf transition)

9. Random Crystal Chronicle figure (was a GCN game and is in the process of a DS and Wii game)


And if there are any I'm missing please inform me but aside from that I am looking forward to other peoples opinons...

Well, ignoring Chain of Memories:

Final Fantasy 7-11 are disqualified due to 'Not on Nintendo Consoles'.

1-6 have been on NES/SNES/GBA/DS (varying from title to title). However they all have been on Playstation (even though that doesn't disqualify them).

12 is out except for four characters that were in Revonate Wings (DS title), two of them are in Tactics Advanced 2. Chrystal Chronical series, Tactics Advanced and Advanced 2 all are viable and Nintendo ONLY. Moogle and Chocobo are the most likely as 'emblems of Final Fantasy'.

Cloud, "Leon", Yuffie, and Aerith, are all in for Chain of Memories. However Kingdom Hearts isn't Final Fantasy. This would be like bringing up Chrono Trigger right now.

I'd love to see Mog/Montblanc/Moogle as playable. Montblanc would cover Moogle and Black Mage.

Yeah, someone IS missing alright.

Anyone familiar with a yellow bird that goes "kweh!" and is used ever since FF2 as an alternate means of transportation, summons, attacks, lores... oh and also has a franchise of his own, has a game released worldwide on the DS, and a new game coming to the Wii as well...


Oh and uh... he's also Square's mascot. Any idea where he is?

This thread has already been done, but W/E. I do support Terra too. And Cecil Harvey. If a Moogle has to get in, it pains me to say it should be Montblanc over Mog, as Mog should only get in if Terra does too, and we're not getting 2 Final Fantasy characters this game.

lol hardly, considering snake is more popular from metal gear solid on the ps2 than metal gear on the NES, i say if they are gonig to get a char from final fantasy, they will go all out, maening they will get Cloud, and maybe even Sephiroth

However Snake was on the NES, thus he's possible, Sephiroth was never on a Nintendo system, and Cloud would not be a Final Fantasy rep if he got in (as he'd be a Kingdom Hearts rep). VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XI, XII are for the most part out. The exceptions are Cloud, Aerith, Yuffie, and "Leon" (Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories), Vaan and Penelo (XII: Revenant Wings and Tactics Advanced 2), and Balthier and Fran (XII: Revenant Wings).

To say that Sephiroth or any other I did not list would get in on popularity is stupid, as it goes against Sakurai's words on what qualifies third party appearance.

Sakurai never said anything that would made Cloud unlikely as a Final Fantasy representative, he was on a Nintendo system, which is the only thing he needs, plus, he's the most popular Final Fantasy character, if there was going to be one, it would be him, despite him not having a leading role on a Nintendo system.

See my list of characters that are 'exceptions'? Cloud is first. However Cloud's only appearance on a Nintendo system was as a Kingdom Hearts character, that was my point.

Cloud (and everyone not from XII) was not in a Final Fantasy game on a Nintendo system.

Also, if any Final Fantasy character would represent Final Fantasy in Brawl, it'd be a Moogle or a Chocobo. Cloud is one character from one world, Moogles and Chocobos are eternal and forever. This is also assuming the Square-Enix rep is a Final Fantasy rep, and not from Dragon Quest. Dragon Quest is the one working alongside Mario in a game already. ^_^

Right. I was gonna mention that. Cause, if anything, Chrono would seem to be a decent Rep. He isn't AS popular as the over-rated Cloud, and with him in Brawl, he'd possibly resurrect the series. (Chrono series, of course.)

Well, I meant compared to Cloud. Oh yeah, Chrono has an incredible rep when it comes to fans and the public... but Square-Enix doesn't seem to realize that. Hell, they won't even re-release it again...

And Chrono Cross was incredible. The main character's my avatar, if you didn't know.

WHAT?!? I didnt know that what have I been doing all this time !!!! Btw do you think from the recent Chrono game he has the potential to be in Brawl?? Hey you guys may say he has no chance in Brawl but hey I dont know what to expect from Sakurai any more...

Chrono actually wasn't the main character. It's

<--- That guy. His name's Serge, and he's... similar to Chrono, I guess. He uses a "Swallow." If you've played FFIX, it's what Zidane used later in the game.

Chrono isn't the main character of Cross, but what he and his friends did in Trigger greatly impacts the entire game. Plus a lot of things that weren't wrapped up in Trigger get tied nicely off. It's certainly a great game to play.

The rights to characters created exclusively for the Kingdom Hearts franchise (Sora, Riku, etc.) are owned by Disney.

Also, I don´t think any Final Fantasy characters will make it into Brawl. Not because I wholly dislike the series or think they wouldn´t fit, but there´s little space for third party characters and I´d rather it not be spent on someone from that series.

No, it's not. They are Disney. I'm sorry you didn't know that. Really I am. Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Ansem and all the other orriginal KH characters belong to Disney. All of the FF characters are Square-enixes.

Well, isn't it the contrary ?

All original characters are belonging to Square, and Disney's characters to Disney...

The FF characters from Mario Basket Ball would be great (moogle, ninja, or white mage)

If a Square character comes, it will most likely be either the Black Mage or Mog.
Still, in my opinion Cloud would be better.

PS. Can someone post a link or something as a proof? (If Sora & co. are Disney or Square?)

The only reason why I would want Cloud to be in is three words...

"One Winged Angel"

One of my favorite videogame scores ever! Tied to Dancing Mad (Final Fantasy VI) and World Revolution (Chrono Trigger).

I really hope any of these 3 tracks gets added.. Sakurai wants epic? These songs will blow any pseudo-epic latin theme song out of his butt! XD (reference was used)

I also picture Mario fighting Sephiroth... or Lavos... either scene would be equally awesome.

Nope, that's not quite right. Cloud has been in FF Tactics, yes. But the one he was in was the original version on the PSX.

The GBA game Cloud has been in (if only as a boss/summon) is Kingdom Hearts: CoM.

I'm not into Sephiroth anyway, I just like his theme song.

For a badass boss, I prefer Lavos. Sephie just burned down a village, and failed to crash Meteor on the planet. Lavos on the other hand consumed the whole world froim the inside out and made it the home for his spawns.
Lavos = cooler, IMO.

And I definitely see a team-event where Kirby and Bowser team up on Lavos. :O

Okay they are disney .period. No need for the confusion... and also hey whoever said there will be no chance of FF character in Brawl we will never know until the game comes out all we can do now is speculate... and also hey square enix has been working alot with Nintendo recently...

ex: FF 12 Revenant Wings, FFTA2: Fuuketsu No Grimmoa (I forgot the first part but I know it ended with the title of the legendary book Grimmoa), FF crystal Cronicles: Crystal Bearers, FF Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates, and the soon coming wii shop downloadable game: FF Crystal Chronicles: The Young King and The Promised Land..

ps. woot Dr. Mario sequel for the win!!!
