I like Lucario and all, and I think he would be interesting in smash... but, Mewtwo is Iconic; everybody knew who Mewtwo was during the first generation. everybody wanted him... I remember, back then, that having Mewtwo was like a trophy... a monument to all your hard work; to all the time spent training your Pokemon, beating the gym leaders, emerging as champion of the elite four... after all that, you finally got to enter that cave just off of Cerulean city... when you got to the end... there he was, Mewtwo, the ultimate Pokemon; the thing that every kid saved their Master Ball for; the thing that nobody would trade, no matter what was offered...

and now, after all that, some people have the nerve to say that Lucario should be in over Mewtwo.... it's just plain ridiculous... no. more than that... it's sad.

frankly, I don't care if Mewtwo is better, or worse then he was in melee. he deserves to be in. period.

Just because in total Mewtwo is more known. If you were to ask some teenager that was 16 that used to be in to Pokemon who Lucario is, he wouldn't know. But if you said Mewtwo he will say he will know him. Mewtwo is more iconic then Lucario. I always feel that each older generation is neglected everytime there is a new one. And worse of all, that means the 1st gen... which started Pokemon's popularity is getting worser treatment. When was the last time you saw a Cubone in the Anime? Or a Raichu? And for the people who despised Ash, Mewtwo KILLED Ash (Although he was more turned to stone and it was a collab with Mew. But the way Ash fell, the stone only covered what it meant, he DIED). And even if that ended in to one of those usual sad moments, then Ash is alive yippee for all other characters and Mewtwo goes away. You just can't forget that Mewtwo actually killed people in the Anime. Don't forget the lab he was created, those doctors must have been dead after Mewtwo fled. That is why Mewtwo is considered bad***, and one of the only reasons Sakauri put him in Melee: The popularity he gained for being so bad***. So what if you had to wait 20+ hours to unlock Mewtwo only to find out it is a low tier suckage. It is not moveset that gets characters in Smash, it's popularity. Lucario pales in comparison to the fans of Mewtwo. Lucario isn't even legendary officially, he doesn't even has his own Article on wikipedia while Mewtwo does. Listen, i'm not against Lucario being in Brawl. But Mewtwo will most likely return, and be back with a revamped moveset that will blow any away. Lucario still needs the thumbs up from Sakauri. What supports Mewtwo's role most, is that he is considered an antagonist. And Sakauri loves the Villians.

Mewtwo all the way. Are you kidding me? My mean Lucario is cool and all, but compares to Mewtwo? There is no comparison. Lucario is just one of hundreds. Mewtwo is L-E-G-E-N-D-A-R-Y, who commands true and loyal followings from both the pokemon series AND SSBM. It would be a crying shame to cut this selection b/c some blue pointy chested rat. Yet, most important of them all is that when you mention Mewtwo, EVERYBODY knows who he is. Lucario? Not so much. Finally, Mewtwo is unique, Lucario will just be another Fox knock off, who has a pimped out projectile, if that.

Verdict? Mewtwo. I can't wait for Shadow Claws 2.

I Agree, Metwo was the lowest tier character for a reason: Pichu ***** it all day long.

^ Maybe not most, but a good margin. Lucario is the first real "sole icon" of a Pokémon gen since Pikachu, and we all know how popular Pikachu is. >_<

As for my vote, god d*** whoever made this, THIS IS TOUGH. Seriously, the only Pokémon I like more then those two are Blastoise, Charizard, and Zapdos [it looks f***ing sick]. But Mewtwo, because he's the main villain, and he's the s***. He's the most powerful Pokémon, and basically ***** 99% of all first gen Pokémon without even trying. Mewtwo for the WIN!...but we should and WILL [most likely] have both. Seriously. And Jiggs as well. >_<
