There's is a logical relation between playing more aggressively and allowed the opponent to counter more often/give the opponent more oppertunities because the defense lacks. Naturally playing more defensively causes the opponent to have less oppertunities. You are correct the outcome could have been the same, but based on the fact that England's defense would in fact have been more solid if they had gotten that second goal I can conclude that the chance of Germany having the same amount of goals would have been smaller.

So, why was it bad logic?
There's no facts about it. Every single thing you said was just an assumption. For example:

Germany would've played more aggressively if England was allowed that and, because of England's over confidence with their strikers but incredibly crappy defense, Germany would've won 8-2.

It's bad logic because it's based on a silly assumption that has countless variables.

England and Mexico got boned by the ref today! I'm d@mn upset about what happend in both games! I'd like to talk more about what goals should have been allowed or not, and how it could have changed the outcome of the games, but this is something I, and many others, are gonna have to forget because there isn`t anything we can do about it! Sux!

I wonder what it's going to take for FIFA to even consider Video Technology to determine plays. Honestly, what??? Has the media ever asked this question to FIFA?

After this years calls, they should at least implement it on the goal line if they don't do it on any other part of the field.
I think it would take a player strike, and it may be possible that it happens, imo.

Roacher, if your happy Argentina beat Mexico... personally, I say shut up.

I don't support either Germany or England but Eng 2nd goal that wasn't counted should have been! Clearly over the line...
Would have levelled things 2-2, back to square one. England wouldn't have been under-pressure and forced to commit more men to offence, leaving their defence much more vulnerable to German counters. Which of course was what exactly happened, resulting in another 2 goals by Germany.
Video Technology is needed, I mean even Tennis has implemented it for crying out loud...

Good stuff by Argentina, some awesome goals in that game.
still no goal for Lionel Messi?

Ok, now what did I do wrong. Apparently, I can't post my opinions on a team here without someone telling me to shut up. I want Argentina to win. So what?
I was kidding! Haha
I'm a huge Mexico fan is all. I forget sarcasm doesn't translate well here...

But Argentina played a good game when I think about it, but allowing that off-sides goal crushed the Mexican team. Even the stadium got quieter after that.

Se nos acabo el viaje. =/

England was steamrolled but the calls made by the refs were whack. Could have been an entirely different match if those calls were different.

Not surprised Mexico lost but Argentina didn't completely violate Mexico. It was a pretty even game but after the offsides goal and Osorio's massive fail Argentina took full control for a bit and then things evened out. Argentina didn't outperform Mexico as a team imo, it was the strikers who pulled through seeing as how there was not a lot of real danger created by Argentina as a whole throughout the match. Mexico as a team was a more dangerous than Argentina in this game but in the end the score is what matters. Tevez is a dangerous dude.

Argentina better watch out against Germany.

Isn't the ref that did the match with England the one that did the one with the US and Ghana? I'm still pissed off at that dude for stealing in my opinion what would've been a victory for the US, no matter if they would've lost anyways.

I'm still happy that Argentina won

I'm scared for them. After seeing how bad Germany *****, I'm afraid for Argentina now >_>

3-1 was tricky.

Mexico played really well, but again, they just couldn't score. Argentina got 3, and even if there was a ref fail, they scored 3.
I'm glad the way Mexico played, though, they was really an appealing and fun to watch team, and got Argentina as an equal.
Too bad football isn't about justice, but goals. Well, **** happens.
Better luck next time.

Wait, I didnt see all of the USA v Ghana match, but how did the ref 'steal' the match? was there one critical incident or was there many bad calls against usa? I mean... all I can see is that no one got red carded, and usa got a penalty goal >_>

Holland playing p. much flawless so far. I don't like how Kuyt is playing though because quite frankly I found him useless in most games so far. Should be replaced by Elia imo. Other than that REALLY solid defending and smart when attacking. Looking good.

Holland looked good pretty much the whole time, except for a few opportunities they gave to Slovakia around the 65th minute. Vittek could have had himself two goals, but it was a decent match I guess. Holland v. Brazil will be fun, assuming Brazil beats Chile.

Holland's back four is dreadful.

If they win the World Cup, then the trophy should be melted.

Also Kuyt is trash.

lkmao Kuyt trash xD

Kuyt isn't that good but he works so hard and he gets rewarded for it.
He runs over the whole field the whole match. He never stops, he's awesome =D

And Robben too good

I've only been able to watch two of their games so far (not including today's), but I feel like Holland just seems to be an overall good team. They play their spaces very well, that's for sure.

Uruguay vs. Ghana

Netherlands vs. Brazil

Argentina vs. Germany

Paraguay/Japan vs. Spain/Portugal

Looks the tradition of having a South American and/or European teams final will not be broken this year. Japan and Ghana have it rough XD

Yeah see that's the thing, he WORKS SO HARD because he has to make up for the fact that he's trash.

He's still trash.

See players like Sneijder don't go OMG WORK HARD and they're still miles better. Still wish van der Vaart was playing omg.

If it was Uruguay against Japan I would worry for Japan, but the game after that is gonna kill them.

I'm hoping for Netherlands or Uruguay to make it to the final, just for a little variety in who can claim the title.

Netherlands was runner up twice in '74 and '78 while Uruguay won the first one in '30 and the major upset in '50 against Brazil in Brazil.

Go Uruguay!

as much as I want Brazil to win...I really don't like how Dunga dealt with Ronaldhino and Adriano so Im kinda hoping in the back of my mind that they lose in the Semis...just to prove that this team aint **** without the men that brought Brazil WC titles.
