I recently turned on my old wii after 2 years, its a 4.2U that Is already softmodded. I have geko as a channel so I'm assuming I really went all the way there (I can't believe I don't remember any of this...). I also have a new sd card thats a 32gb sdhc, it seems to work on my system as i got textures to work once and it always can read from it.

I've taken the file patch code for 3.5.1 and put it into the codes folder, I also downloaded PsychoMario. I put the files in private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter/mario

Unfortunately nothing is loaded in! When I run geko it says SD Codes found and applies, but in game no change :(

With this same SD card previously I got the texture to load but no moveset (I have no idea how..).

Any ideas where i can start?

I know/have heard Brawl doesn't always work well with 2+ GB SD cards because it was released before the Wii got SDHC (2+ GB SD card) support. Do you have a lot of things on your SD card? I've heard that Brawl can't read anything on a bigger SD card past 2 GB or something like that.

My guess is Gecko is finding the file patch code and using it but the game isn't finding the files somehow.

You're not using Riivolution or anything right?

Thanks for the reply.

I heard about that as well, but wasn't sure if since it was detected that means it would work or not.
I do have 30ish GB of music on my SD card is that's whats causing the problem?
It does seem the game isn't able to use the files correctly as on the stage select I get multiple copies of the same stage and if i hit y or x on one of them (via my GC controller) it will remove it from stage selection lol!

No Riivolution here either :)

The other question I have is how can I use a 4gb brawlset from brawlbox if only 2gb is supported! I'm on 4.2U is there a way to upgrade?

What were the Mario files named? Make sure that they either have the name of the costume you're replacing or that they're next after the last costume (if you use cBliss or any other costume-extension). Like if you want to replace the 4th costume slot with the custom costume, you would have to rename the files for PsychoMario to "FitMario04.pac" and "FitMario04.pcs" for them to work. You'd also need to change the CSS icon for the costume to one for the custom costume (so you'd need to find Mario's "MenSelchrMark" files, find the 4th costume's icon and replace that with the custom icon) in order to fully replace the original costume (not doing this makes it so that the game loads the custom costume, but the original CSS icon).

As for movesets, those are in "FitMarioMotion" and "FitMarioMotionEtc".

They were named FitMario00.pcs and pac respectively. I don't think it was a naming issue!

Then it may be something to do with the FitMotionEtc. file; that's what has the moveset's animations in it. If that's not nammed right, the moveset doesn't work.

So make sure the file's named "FitMarioMotionEtc.", because that could be the issue. Also make sure you replace the CSS portraits for the costume you are replacing (or add them in cBliss if you use that method). So you'd replace Mario's default CSS portrait with the one for the PSA (or make one if it doesn't come packaged with a image for that).

I'd also reccommend using this tutorial, if I'm not being too useful here; http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/32197/t1343578-guide-to-texture-hacking/
