Rules

General Conduct Rules (This is rules that are common in all Smash games)

1. You must win 2/3 games in all non-finals matches and 3/5 in all finals matches to advance.
2. Items are to be set to OFF or NONE.
3. Pause is to be disabled. If pause is left on, and a player pauses the game, then it will be up to the sole discretion of the tournament organizer to determine any penalties. (if any)
4. Amiibos are to be banned from tournament play AND from the tournament area itself. Failure to adhere to this rule may result in disqualification.
5. There is no Gentlemen’s Clause. You may not play on a banned stage at any time. Failure to observe this rule will result in a double disqualification.
6. Timeout Clause: If a game goes to time, the player with the most amount of stocks is declared the winner. If stocks are tied, then the player with the least amount of damage percent is declared the winner. If both stocks and percent are tied, a one stock, three minute game will be played using the same characters and stage.
7. The Results screen is the arbiter of all disputes. If a game ends in a suicide move, and the results screen shows a clear winner, then that is the result you go with. However, if the game ends in a suicide move, and it immediately goes into sudden death, the sudden death is ignored and the player who initialized the move is declared the winner. If both players trade moves that end the game in a double KO, resulting in sudden death, then the player with the least percent is declared the winner.
8. Random Select Clause: Any player using Random Select to pick their character must randomly select again if a condition of the game forces you to reselect your characters. This is provided that there no way to pick a certain character in the random box.
9. You may not select a stage that you have previously won on unless mutually agreed to.
10. Get Out of Pools Clause: Coaching is allowed during the time allowed between games, but only during Non-Finals matches. If you coach during non-permitted times, you will face expulsion from the venue without refund. Hype moments are obviously exempt.
11. The act of stalling is banned: stalling is intentionally making the game unplayable: Such as becoming invisible, continuing infinites, chain grabs, or uninterruptible moves past 300%, and reaching a position that your opponent can never reach you. Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of the match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character, and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.

General Set Procedure

1. The first stage is decided by Rock, Paper, Scissors, best of one. Winner will strike first, then loser strikes twice, and then the winner will decide between what is remaining (1-2-2-1).
2. Players may select their characters. A Double Blind selection may be asked only for the first game in any given set.
3. The first game is played.
4. Maximum allowed time between games is 60 seconds. Any player violating this rule will be issued a loss.
5. Winner may reselect their character, but must select their character before the loser.
6. Winner of the previous game is allowed ONE stage ban in a best of three match. There is no stage bans in a best of five match.
7. Loser selects the next stage, and the next game is played.
8. Repeat steps 4-7 as necessary to complete the match.
9. On a Bracket Reset, start from step 1.
