Fawful for Brawl!

Assuming there's a new Mario & Luigi game, I'd be surprised if we didn't see Fawful again. It's one thing to cameo a guy, but it's another to cameo him and then have him swearing revenge and proclaiming that he'll "rise again". If Fawful were just a cameo as a bean shop owner and nothing else, then I'd assume that his cameo was just for fun. But saying he'll "rise again" probably means the developers intend to have him at least attempt to "rise again" in the future.

Yeah, Nintendo often hints new games in RPGs, sometimes, like with Paper Mario, it hinted Luigi's Mansion with Luigi's Diary saying that Luigi wished he's have his own game; it would even have his name in the title!

I'd say his dancing suit seems more likely, for mobility and such, but IU'd prefer his trenchcoat, since we see him in that more often.

But the antenna thing will be replaced by his headgear.

Fawful can make a number of combos with his his helmet blasting those green things, as well!

Well, yea, all characters should have tons of alternate costumes if possible. We're just going by the assumption that there's only one (or alternatively, which one will be the main one). And generally, I think the main costume should be based on the character's most updated appearance, even if in this case that appearance was a cameo.

(not that Fawful's chances are very good anyways, but hypothetically speaking)

I'm a bit torn on his one. On one hand, I think Fawful is a great character who seems to be getting more popular,and he would have an insane moveset. On the other hand,however, they already have alot of Mario characters as is,and unless they have a hell of alot of character slots(I'd personally like to see an in-joke,like 64 or 128),I just can't see him in it.

I may someday feel bad because there will be a number of very cool characters in Brawl that I will never play as because I will be unable to choose any character that is not Fawful.

I'm glad we both like the idea of playing as Fawful in Brawl. There are quite a few Fawful supporters out there. I hope they all come to this thread!

I read on the Nintendrone Interview that many characters will have alternate costumes, so I wouldn't be suprised if Fawful had those, too.

cackletta is dead, in the second mario and luigi he is on his own and planning his own conquest. he has more personality then cackletta, his designs are excellent. who doesn't like a guy in a trench coat. your argument hold no water, which mario character is more deserving then the fawful and don't you say toad or ill gut you

Fawful sounds like a great addition, but on the more rational side, there's just not really any chance that he'll be put in. Have fun fantasizing while you can, though.

On a side note, Red Maniac, your avatar is awesome!! Did you get that from Smashboards or did you import it?

well the way i look at it, the mario sector has mario, luigi, bowser, and peach. so in my opinion sakurai will either add toad, fawful, or none at all. and im betting he'll choose fawful if not at all

As awesome as Fawful,is Toad is more well-known and more popular than Fawful,so Toad will make it in first.

This is a big thing. Super Smash Brothers is all about appealing the fans. I have a strong feeling that most of the fan base is actually people that have played a Mario, Zelda, etc game here and there, not hardcore fans. Therefore, this gives players like Toad a better chance than characters like Fawful.

dunno, throughout toad's life he has been a minor character. the only two games where he was really playable (which doesn't count the party, sports, and kart games) were super mario 2 which was good for him and wario woods which is about equal to dr. mario in terms of pr. now fawful has a tie here with him in that he was a major villian in mario and luigi, a vendor in 2, and possibly a villian in the third installment. he is an excentric character while toad falls more into the bland category, and he is equal in fanbase. toad only trumps fawful in age, which could swing both ways in terms of help or hurt. in terms of want i would say that toad fawful and even geno are at a cult status right now.

i n conclusion i feel that if toad makes it in over fawful i won't be upset, but i'd be happier if it was fawful and not toad, and happiest if both got in

Oh that is so DEFINITELY true! Toad SO deserves a spot WAY more then Fawful would in ANY game, ESPECIALLY Brawl?

You know why? Because Toad's one of the "Big Eight" of Mario!

wow that 8 list needs to be updated something fierce. mainly because wario and donkey kong have actually made names for themselves and only really come back to the marioverse in party, sports, kart, ports, and remakes. so that makes it the original 6, and out of those six toad has done the least, practically nothing really. i mean hes only been playable in two adventure games, and one was a puzzle/tetris-esc game so i wouldn't really count that, and the other he was one of four selectable characters, but he was the best out of the four so ill give him that. so out of toads entire carear which has lasted as long as the test of time, hes only been a playable character in 2 adventure games. i personally dont think that counts for much at all, so lets admit that the only reason toad stands a chance is that he has a loyal fanbase willing to back him up. but then again so did samurai goroh who was a much more major character in his series, and we all know what happened to him. now granted that mario is a mega franchise and f-zero is not toad is still a blip on the mario radar as far as character importance goes.

now so far in fawful's carear he has been a major right-hand man to a big time villian and a diabolical shopkeeper. now the shopkeeper can be taken away as long as toads puzzle game goes with it. now so far this seems about equal character-wise. fawful isa young up and commer, and toad is a tired old man who has almost been forgotten about, placed in a retirement home if you will. so all in all the characters are equal except for one thing. the big toad pc scandle from melee, this incident might be what pushes toad over the edge into pcness because it is known that he is a wanted pc character


and that is all i have to say for right now
