Falco vs Fox shield pressure images and frame data

A couple of notes about these images:

These images are both the highest safe aerial and the lowest unsafe aerial of each Falco aerial against each common Fox out-of-shield option. They assume frame-perfection on the part of both the attacker and the defender. They also do not account for drift away. The images are meant to just give you an idea of what is and isn’t safe.

In this case, being safe vs grab means that the Falco would be able to shine on the same frame the defender could have put out a grab hitbox vs a standard seven-frame grab (sorry Ness mains ;). Safe vs shine means that

A couple of safe aerials may appear to be hitting higher than the unsafe one. That is because the unsafe aerial was rising in that case. Any other oddities you see are likely explained in the notes.

w/FF means with fast-fall; no FF is the opposite.

Fair

Fair is always unsafe vs fox shine oos

Uair

Uair vs Shine

NOTE: uair can be safe vs shine, just not out of SH. This is because of how uair warps your ECB.

NOTES:

for safe dair/nair/bair vs shine (w/FF) you have to fast fall before the aerial

it is impossible to safely uair vs shine due to ECB weirdness that makes uair effectively -4 (this is only true out of SH, with other setups you can get a -3 uair which would be safe vs shine)

when doing really early (unsafe vs grab so first or second airborne frame) uairs w/FF it is impossible for both hits to connect with the shield, making it even less safe effectively

for safe uair w/FF vs grab you FF between the hits

(also note these are all for the earliest possible safe aerials)

all FF lasers are safe vs both shine and grab

Should note that the laser ones will be the most different in practice since these are point-blank lasers. Normal lasers will have worse frame advantage since they will hit the shield before you are next to your opponent to shine.

any image with a red shield indicates that that aerial would not have connected with the shield unless the fox angled it up

vs frame-perfect westballz pressure, there are 3f without shieldstun between the shines, and at least 10f after the second shine without shieldstun (assuming unstale shine)

(I say at least bc it depends what option he chooses after the second shine)

vs frame-perfect double shine there are 2f without shieldstun between. 4f between all later multishines

also be sure to note that this is all assuming unstale and frame-perfection on both parties

also note that bair and nair oos are just as fast as grab

finally note that this is how high you can get with 7f if you full hop

Please let me know if this is helpful or if there's something wrong or if you have any suggestions of what I might add to this post or similar ones in the future. :)
