Falco SHFF laser > grab

Howdy folks,

For some reason 75% of the time when I SHFF Laser > grab I end up jabbing with the Z button instead of the grab.

Could someone break this down form me? Is there a frame window upon landing that makes it jab? What makes Z a jab vs. a grab?

If you're crouching and press Z you'll jab. Stop holding down after the fast fall.

Also a tip: Even if you're not running you can jump-cancel grab. If you do it fast enough this will eliminate all possibilities of jabbing/light shielding, etc.
