The Falco Matchup Thread

2011-present

Note: Each character (and discussion of the matchup) has its own thread. You are free to contribute at any point to the matchups as long as they remain productive, and at least a little more beneficial to the community than harmful.

I did not summarize them, because who am I to tell you what is important in a matchup? We all gain different things from it, so absorb whatever you want from the conversation. Reading a few pages and gaining useful tools beats being lazy.

We have enough bad Falcos...

You guys choose the first character. Just keep in mind that low tier characters have not been discussed at all in the past and Meta Knight, although there is much to talk about, has been discussed frequently.

Start with the bottom and work our way up so. Easier matchups will be dealt with quickly, and several may be done in a single week due to easily agreeable **** matchups on characters like falcon or ganon.

iirc I still have the PSD for the other matchup chart graphic, so if you want me to recolor it / change the numbers or something, I could pretty easily do that at some point.

Are we still going with the arbitrary percentage-ratios or shouldn't we just start doing what the BBR did with the mu chart? (+1 for advantage, +2 for good counterpick etc). It seems to make more sense and the percentages can get misleading.

Not that it makes much difference; I just think it would look better in the overview.

If we use the BBR scale I probably won't discuss, matchups are more than just advantage/disadvantage etc.

The BBR has no idea what they're talking about half the time, especially given how much respect was lost when they showed us their stage lists. I have absolutely no desire to do anything that the BBR 'recommends'.

Ratios work as long as the matchups are summarised, which hasn't been done in the past. I'm more than happy to supply summaries on what's been posted in the matchup discussions.

Brawl Back Room charts are not necessary to keep up the independent flow of the Falco boards going. We are fine on our own, so let's just do our own thing, and keep it simple.

Thanks man. Gamegenie has been bugging the crap out of me to post here more often

Honestly I've just been really busy with projects in the BBR, designing Vibrant, real life, etc. I just haven't had as much time

I still don't have enough time to be super active here again yet, but I'm all for lending a hand with the matchup chart since that's important and I know it's hard to get someone to make the graphic. I'll try to put in my two cents on matchups when I can though.

Hopefully after I finish some things I will be able to post more again

I am going to be using quotes, points, and basic tips to summarize matchups. Informative but easy-to-read. Hope you guys are okay with that. Also, if you have any problems with the summaries please let me know on here, the individual threads, or private message me.
