Extremely important question

Hey guys. ive been maining metaknight for quite a while, and im considering switching my main to sonic because i love the feel of sonic. anyway, my question is this: how does sonics side B differ to his Down B?

I've spent ages trying to work it out, and i cant figure out any application for the down b. someone PLEASE help me out ASAP
