...there's a crouch button?

I'm assuming this just makes the normal control editing screen just not have limits, right? i wish i had better access to an SD card reader to test this stuff easier.

You should consider adding the Pick Any Color Code:

It's pretty self explanatory, you can have two Pink Falcons playing at the same time, players can both be the same character color. Great for mindgames, unless the players are using Tags, but it's still a cool code. I'm pretty sure it doesn't affect gameplay, and it only 4 Lines

I actually wasn't being sarcastic about the crouch button thing, believe it or not. I honestly have no idea what "the UNRESTRICTED control mapping" meant.

hmm. about the CSS giga&company... i thought that was there to fix some silly transforming character thing. I'll look into dropping that. It'll clear up some room.

Oh no, my mistake, that CSS uses independent pokemon, so it needs the Giga & Company fix.

Do you understand unrestricted button mapping now?

I think i've got the unrestricted button mapping down. I'm not sure i'll add it yet. I'll have to contact some higher ups in the community on their opinion of having unrestricted controls in tournament. I don't think it'll be an issue though, since you'll be forced to not use those controls on wiis not running EX Brawl.

The CSS does NOT run the independent pokemon engine, so when you pick like, "Squirtle" you just get PT starting as squirtle. Would that other code still be needed?

SCOTU, this is a touchy one, but what about freezing stages like Pokemon Stadium 2?

It doesn't really effect gameplay other than adding another completely neutral stage to the choices. I'm guessing that it probably won't be implemented for the same reason that custom stages are not used, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Hmmm...I don't think so. Just to make sure, you might want to change the character IDs for trainer-independent pokemon (5d, 5e, and 5c; 2nd last line of the custom CSS code) to dependent pokes (1c, 1d, and 1e). If you have the 1x IDs, there wont be any problems

yeah, Pokemon Stadium 2's already a counterpickable stage. It's not banned because of something stupid, but again, that code can't be made to run on a tournament wii, because 1) it would ruin the advantages someone would counterpick that stage for normally and b) it wouldn't be the same on a wii at the same tournament that was not running EX Brawl, and I cannot force everyone to run EX Brawl at a tournament.

Thanks for bringing it up though. It is a valid concern.

I'm not too familiar w/ the CCSS code, i couldn't follow the documentation too well. Could you explain what you mean a bit better?

You will always go back to Samus when selecting ZSS since she is technically never on the character select screen. Basically I believe it's an unfortunate side effect.

Do you have the Zelda/Shiek and Samus/ZSS CSS fix? I thought it fixed that problem.
I quickly tested the set to see if that 'bug' was still there and I used code manager to set it up. It's totally possible I forgot to turn the code on. I have since switched back to Brawl+.

I had that exact problem with my old CSS and it's why I got rid of it. (That and line space)

I think there is a way to make a custom random select that you can chose to select certain characters. I'm not sure though. Someone more knowledgeable can probably help. :(

Oh, good, I was about to point that out, and angrily ask how indy pokémon didn't affect gameplay, glad I didn't have to.

I'm sure a number of people have been using similar variants of this for a while. I have been using something very similar for a while now. My region is discussing what codes can be properly used in tourneys right now.

It was a good idea to organize it together so we can get a standard. Once we get it standardized I'll pass it along.

But...

Why would you want to start on a random pokemon?

EDIT: I've got my Custom CSS, Texture Swap, Default Settings Mod, Infinite Replay, Pick Any Colour, Tags in Replays, Unrestricted Button Mapping Editing, Unrestricted Pause Camera, and Unrestricted Replay Camera, and it's only at 238 lines. Am I missing something?

EDITEDIT: If you make a "Future Codes" section, a "Skip Intro Video" code should be there

this is a great idea, I am a major brawl+ supporter but I totally understand the purpose of this and it's a good idea. And until the next version of gecko it allows a different set of codes to be used with vbrawl than brawl+ I hope they both thrive. Good stuff.



EDIT:

You should add an "EX" and the version number to the title screen, and update the version number every time you update your version.

you mean like, file hack something to make the title screen have an EX? rofl that'd be too good. idk how to do that though :( ... yet...

I tried it out and besides the known bugs, it works wonderfully
which known bugs are these?

Are the texture hacks really needed? :p
no, but why not? I couldn't think of something better for those code slots.

This can let choose wifi waiting room (Legal), Results (CP).

Results is all black, so kinda mindgamy. Try it though before disregarding.

hm. I actually have no clue about codes and how they relate to wifi. Since none of them affect actual gameplay, i'm assuming they don't cause desynch. I don't know how the pause camera works on wifi though, that might do weird stuff, probably not, and it won't desynch anything afaik

wait, what do those codes do?

i used the code but there is one issue

i quit a match and went to the selection screeen and ics and the 2 icons to the left did not work

No. Brawl players expect tap jump to be on, so some people don't use names and don't change their controls because they depend on tap jump being on. If you want this code, you might as well play Brawl+.
