Event Match #6?

Sakurai pulled a fast one on us by putting single-player event match #6 in the co-op update but not the single-player update. For a while, I thought that there might be something revealing, like a new character or something, in that picture.

After looking at it for a long time, I realized that it looks like there's one DK and two Diddies (plural of Diddy?) in the picture. There's also this purplish thing either next to or on DK. Does anyone have any ideas what that might be? Is it an alternate costume for DK? I really hope it isn't Dixie...

Apologies if this has been pointed out before, but I couldn't find it with the search feature.

EDIT: I also just noticed that there's a giant DK on the left of the picture... I couldn't figure out what that was! I guess that's who you play in the event.

See, this is why we have the DOJO Updates forum, so you can ask these questions in the respective thread.

I think it's too hard to say, but some of the people who posted in the DOJO Update thread might have something to say about it.
