it certainly does not work on spacies. if they di away you shouldnt be able to chase them. its easier with bigger characters.

DI away = jump forward > side b
No DI = Normal jump > side b
DI In = jump forward > turn around side b

i got this all to work against bowser and dk really well. but i also get it consistently against roy, sonic and diddy. i havent been playing much to really get other characters into it but i dont think it works on floaties or fast fallers like spacies and falcon. most things between fall victim tho

also if they dont di the side b i usually just u air them and start the combos
Thats why i said if they DI incorrectly or not at all.

I side b Bowser a lot but I never go for side b chain grabs because I'm pretty sure they are not guaranteed so I'd rather do side b into Fair chains.

Most of those aren't guaranteed either, especially on smaller, floatier characters. But hey what do I know, I'm still learning Mewtwo and you're getting top 8 at tournies lol.

I should specify that I only do side b into fair chains on big characters.

I'm not sure if you guys critique videos here or not, but I will put this here anyway.

Zach777(MS777 tag) vs Humbees(Ness)

I would like that video to be critiqued, please. Thank you.
I have exp in this matchup so I can help.

In the neutral you want to capitalize on your tail to outrange Ness when he tries to get in your space. You sometimes did do that, but there were other times where you just kind of stood there and let him run at you for free. Mixing up with dtilts in close combat would be very good.

When Ness is spamming PK fire, side B. In fact, you need to start Side Bing more in general. Not only can you deflect his pk fires but if you catch him close enough you can deflect it and grab him at the same time, trapping him in a pk fire pillar during the grab animation which can inflict ****tons of damage and disposition him in a bad spot.

Offstage you need to be more aggressive. Obviously don't go for the gimps if his pk thunder is about to hit him, but don't be afraid to Bair/Uair him the second he pulls out pk thunder because you know half your tail is disjointed so you'll never trade, and you'll get hits for free as long as you space your tail gimps properly.

When you combo Ness in the air learn to hover so you can extend them and do crazy **** like Uair # times into Fair for a kill, for example. In fact that's exactly what I do in one of my newest videos here: http://youtu.be/XRujGnFlrBQ?t=9m4s

Wow. Thank you so much, Master Raven. That was the kind of critique I wanted.

I didn't even know PK fire could be reflected or that M2's side B reflects. Lol.

Sorry, for the double post.

What stage should I have cp'd? I chose Green Greens 64 against Ness. Didn't really know how high that ceiling was. My thought process for it was that I could still gimp him and kill him early while he could not kill me early with his knockback. Was that a smart decision?

GHZ isn't a good m2 stage. tbh I don't know the best counterpick stage against Ness. I just take him to a normal stage like battlefield or smashville lol

i had a weekly and there were pretty decent players there. i'll only link 2 vids tho.

vs ES | Deff (bowser)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kkNNjzXhQI
master raven you might wanna see this to learn something about bowser. i remember you asked about his up b. idk if this helps at all but i dont think i got hit by it too much

vs.... Emukiller :smirk: (set 1 he went characters he thinks counters mewtwo)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSQnURMZqzs

i know my recovery needs work -.- i got in the habit of recovering at a 45 degree angle because nobody punishes that. they all wait for the teleport in more so i'll try and break that

Nice vids Joey. Glad to see more Mewtwo are starting to incorporate float into their combo game. The damage potential from float is just ****ing nuts.

I've gotten better at the Bowser matchup. Yesterday Nick Riddle and I went to two tournaments and we went back to back in sets (I won the first tourney, then he won the second one later that night). His Bowser still occasionally takes games off me (it's usually when he makes good reads, and Bowser's a character who gets so much out of them), but for the most part I give him the touch of death.

Here's a few videos from the second tourney. I still don't know how to record sound with OBS :(

I think I got too aggro and predictable with teleports in the last match with NR. The main reason I play very aggressive in that matchup is because Link has difficulty with shield pressure, but I'm starting to learn that it's a matchup that requires a balance of defense and offense.

Master Raven, in your NR match-up your right. You got predictable. Make sure you move away from being in range of an ub oos. Unless you know you'll be safe doing a teleport in nair, don't do it. Also, and I know its hard, but learn to catch Link's bombs when there thrown at you.

Also, I have been experimenting with charging neutral b out of teleport in as a mixup to nair. From the hitboxes the charge makes, the opponent is not able to act out of it easily. Plus, you have options to safely get away(like a roll).

Master Raven, I think that could be useful against NR's Link(or Bowser, I guess). Avoid the ub by rolling.

I hate Lylat with a burning passion. I'm not even really that bad on it, I auto ban it 'cause it's gross.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ajep_4wISqo another set with emukiller. i took game 1 but got rekt the rest of the set -.-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swvurU1_rOU if you guys dont mind critiquing my set with raptor that would be great. i beat him in winners but he got a lot better at the mu throughout our matches
You play this matchup well for the most part. You just gotta keep a few things in mind:

1) Use more Nair, and not just teleport nair but also mix up with plain hover nairs. It's a nice mixup to keep people guessing and in my experience it's really good against Yoshi, especially if you follow up with a side B since he has no reliable OOS option to beat it (correct me if I'm wrong)

2) Respect Yoshi's egg roll. It's possible to beat it in trades but you have to be on point with spacing when you throw out your tail against it, so what I like to do is charge a shadow ball and throw it at incoming egg rolls since it beats it.

3) Be mindful of his % when you attempt to combo him since he can just combo break with DJ armor. Space your fairs very carefully so you don't trade.

Finally just mix up your tilt and Side B game a little more often. This is a matchup that's weird initially but once you learn the spacing of your moves vs his it gets a lot easier.

On a different note, here's a couple videos from a monthly this week.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ije2Ul8l9xc vs MVD

Note to self: never take Samus to PS2 EVER. And idk the Pikachu matchup that well lol

from my matches with wes i found that ps2 isnt too bad. but esam is definitely better. but you can kill samus pretty early on ps2. but i actually recommend smashville. the platform surprisingly helps in that mu since she cant use it as much and every once in a while it can actually be used for a great early kill on her. i dont get to fight many pika players but emu thinks pika wins that mu. u smash to up b killing at 70 >.>

thanks for the tips tho. i started clanking yoshis egg with my uncharged shadow ball so i wanna see if i can find a use for that

EDIT: also that side b on shield you suggested. yoshi doesnt have reliable oos options. but raptor is good enough to catch on to any mix ups pretty quickly so it might only work early on. i was using it in winners semis and i had to stop since he'd start avoiding it since nair oos is actually a thing with yoshi. not the best oos option but it works

Got some vids from last week's weekly. I almost lost to Spider Sense's Ganon LOL I have no indepth exp in that matchup and it's scary as **** when you're also up against a really good Ganon player (but I also made a lot of greedy and poor decisions)

vs Porkchops I should've used WAAAY more uthrow since I'm used to dthrow and I don't fight spacies very often, let alone someone as good as Porkchops. By the time I started doing it though he adapted super hard and ****ed me cuz he's kind of a god and actually has a fair amount of M2 exp from fighting another good Mewtwo in our region named Prof. I'll get him next time! (And banning Warioware forever because **** THAT STAGE)

vs Spider Sense: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmXzoVZ_wLQ
vs Blea Gelo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpleIHtz5L4
vs Porkchops: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JGj6igEFyg

I also have a set vs Nick Riddle but it hasn't been uploaded yet. I'll post it whenever it's up.

first thing to remember when fighting falco. never let him go to wario ware or yoshis story. he can kill mewtwo around 60% by shining off the top. sorry i cant actually watch the set currently but i saw the stage choices.

fun fact i had to play porkchops at sktar. i got game 1 but i couldnt finish it out >.> from my experiences with falco i'd always ban battlefield now. and yoshis story and wario ware seem like perma ban imo. im not willing to try it out tho

We've been doing Big House 4 rules recently since my LAN center is doing a sponsorship tourney so I'm stuck with 2 bans. I'll prob ban YS and WW because, while I normally hate FoD, at least on that stage Falco loses his vertical kill power and spacies are far more vulnerable on the horizon anyway.

Porkchops is ridiculous though lol you can take a game off him but his adaption is absolutely nuts and he's made 3-game comebacks against virtually every good player down here in Bo5s.

DiddyXX mang. But don't lose hope. Mewtwo has a chance.
I really like Mewtwo. I played 2 sets with just Mewtwo and won. Mostly because I had to play a Diddy and I hate that MU with Marth. The other set was a Samus, Falco main. No explanation for the Samus v Marth main . Considering Samus can out space Marth in PM.

Of course you may not want to watch grand finals if you like seeing Mewtwo win :(

I suck vs melee spacies rofl (I come from a Brawl background and I don't get to practice this matchup outside tournament very often) but I'll get him next time.
