I think only 1 or 2 people play 64 seriously (you'll find them in the facebook group), but most people wouldn't mind playing against you if you show up to a gathering.

DBA 4 IS MAY 16TH IN DALLAS, TX!
This is looking like one of the most stacked events Texas has had to date! Larry Lurr (AKA DEHF) will be attending, as well as top players from all over Texas!

In addition to the singles and doubles tournament, there will be an Amiibo event! This is the first major Amiibo tournament DFW has seen, so if you want to put your amiibo to the test, this is the event for you!

There will also be bounties on top players; if you can take a game or set off DFW's top 4 or Larry, then you can win up to $50 of store credit to use at FX Game Exchange! Click here for more details

Cross posting the PR from the FB group. Here is the info:

The El Paso PR Council presents...
THE OFFICIAL SUMMER 2015 EL PASO MELEE POWER RANKINGS
This is the El Paso Top 10 Melee Player Rankings (PR). It is based on set counts, tournament results, and wins over specific players. Please don’t get salty and instead use this as a motivation to get better! Please keep in mind that this PR starts with the Smashmania Prelude tournament, so anything before it is invalid information. Next PR will be released on December, and will actually feature TOP 15 instead of top 10 like this one. Although this PR is named El Paso PR, it includes Las Cruces and Juarez as well. Focus and you may be on this PR one day! The PR council is consisted of myself, Nerin, Scrubaroo, XII, Roboghandi (Allan), Tetsuyalol and Abraxas.

10. Abraxas
Real Name: Dominic Lowhar
Main(s): Sheik
Area: Las Cruces
Abraxas is the only Melee player from Las Cruces in the top ten, and is also one of the most improving players in the scene. Abraxas entered EVO 2015 and made it to winner’s finals of his pool vs Eddy Mexico. He lost in loser’s finals. However he made it impressively far. At a regional, Salty Juans 2, Abraxas made it out of pools, but lost right away in losers bracket. Here in the local area, the first tournament he entered in the season, Smashmania, he lost early in bracket to Nerin. However he was able to upset Shadowphoenix, Moneypants, and Radical Dreamer, earning him 5th place after a loss to jacobtwotwo. At Stylin Dude, Abraxas did not perform too well, losing to Sir Skaro and Turnipslip. Getting him 9th. He was able to defeat KC though so it’s not too bad. In Smashmania Melee, the last tournament Abraxas entered this season, he made it out of pools and lost to Nerin round 1 in the final bracket. Abraxas recovered having solid victories over Turnipslip/ MachineElf (Turnipslip and MachineElf are the same player) and Fallen (off). However, Abraxas lost to Tetsuya, giving him 4th place. Abraxas’ solid victories over Moneypants and MachineElf as well as overall better tournament placing makes Abraxas earn the number 10 spot in the rankings.

9. Glitchbird
Real Name: Richard Salazar
Main(s): Ice Climbers
Area: El Paso East Side
Glitchbird is one of the oldest Melee players around, he has always been a threat for the top. Glitchbird performed very well in EVO 2015, even after a rough loss to PewPewU in round one, he still made it out through losers and actually placed the best out of all EP players at EVO, showing off that El Paso is not fraud. Glitchbird also Paragon LA 2015 and performed decently, but he definitely did amazing at EVO. Glitchbird’s best placing locally was also the first tournament he entered in the season. He beat XII twice and lost to Nerin and Tetsuyalol. In Smashmania III, Glitchbird lost to Moneypants and to BrockLee, but was able to beat Faltrazz and MachineElf, placing 7th. In El Smasho 2, Glitchbird defeated Scrubaroo, and Deltron, but lost to Nerin and was eliminated in losers semis by a bloodthirsty Scrubaroo, giving him 4th place. At Salt In The Sand, Glitchbird was beaten by Scrubaroo and RadicalDreamer, which made him place 5th. Richard was not able to get too high in the rankings this time due to lots of upsets, such as losing to KC, losing to Moneypants and losing to Radical Dreamer. At El Smasho 3, Glitchbird beat Faltrazz, but lost to XII and to Dai, placing him in 5th. Glitchbird’s crazy potential for upsets make him deserve the number 9 spot in the rankings.

8. BrocLee
Real Name: Marco Nunez
Main(s): Fox, Falco
Area: El Paso East Side
BrocLee is one of the most consistent players in the region. Very rarely losing to people that he has never lost to before. This means that he is very rarely upset. In the first tournament of the season, Smashmania Prelude, he beat Cero and Faltrazz, but lost to Tetsuyalol and Scrubaroo, making him place 7th. In Smashmania, BrockLee was able to beat ShadowPhoenix and Tinmo, but lost to Tetsuyalol and Scrubaroo (again!), making him place 5th. In Stylin Dude, he beat Deltron, Chzy and Mr N, but lost to Scrubaroo and Glitchbird, giving him 5th. In Smashmania III, BrocLee lost early in bracket to RadicalDreamer, but was able to bring it back by beating Shadowphoenix, KC and a huge win over Glitchbird. However he lost to Woker, making him place in 5th . At the Knock Out Gaming melee event, he was able to defeat Abraxas solidly, as well as another win over KC, but he lost to Tetsuyalol and to XII, making him get 5th place. At El Smasho 2, Marco fought Nerin early in bracket but lost, and then faced Scrubaroo and lost, making him get 7th. However he was able to beat KC. In Smashmania Melee, BrocLee made it to pro bracket and was able to defeat KC once more, but lost to Tetsuyalol and Scrubaroo, making him get 5th once again. At El Smasho 3, BrocLee defeated KC and Faltrazz, but was unable to beat Tetsuyalol or WokeR, making him be a 5th place streaker. BrocLee deserved 8 over Glitchbird because BrocLee is more consistent and is able to always play well and place well, while Glitchbird can sometimes take sets out of the top 6, but lost to players not in the top 10, such as KC. In the end the PR council voted and BrocLee won over Glitchbird. BrocLee had more direct wins vs Glitchbird as well, being able to beat him at a recent weekly. BrocLee and Glitchbird are nearly identical in skill though, and their position could switch around next season. BrocLee’s consistency is one all players should look up to, making BrocLee earn number 8.

7. WokeR
Real Name: Armando 'WokeR' Quezada
Main(s): Samus, Pikachu
Area: Juarez
Woker was the second strongest Juarez player during the season, and he was able to show it. He did not show up to many tournaments, but when he did, he was like a storm. Woker’s first tournament of the season was the Smashmania Prelude, where he played amazingly. He was able to upset Scrubaroo twice and defeat Varist. However, he lost to Nerin and Tetsuyalol, making him place 3rd. He also entered EVO 2015 and did well, losing to Soft, but being unable to make it out of pools. Woker went to Smashmania III and did well, defeating BrocLee, MachineElf and Moneypants. He was unable to defeat XII or Scrubaroo, making him place 4th. Woker also entered Salt in the Sand, and was able to defeat Radical Dreamer twice but lost to Scrubaroo and XII again, making him place 3rd. At El Smasho 3, WokeR defeated BrocLee and had a huge win over Dai in winners, but lost to Tetsuya and got eliminated by Dai at losers semis, giving WokeR the 4th place. Solid wins over the players under him and overall consistency makes WokeR deserve number 7.

6. XII
Real Name: Leonardo Montañez
Main(s): Peach
Area: El Paso West Side
XII was one of the first Peach players in El Paso, and the gatekeeper for top 5, rarely losing to players outside of top 5. XII entered Smashmania Prelude and solidly defeated Varist and Mr N, but lost to Nerin and Scrubaroo, which made him place 5th. In Sylin Dude he was able to defeat Scrubaroo, Mr N, and MachineElf. However he was not able to defeat Richard and lost to him twice making him place 4th. XII entered EVO 2015, and was able to make it out of pools in the winners side, but lost to Hungrybox and Amsa back to back. However he still placed extremely well and made EP proud. XII entered the Knock Out Gaming event, and did well, defeating KC and BrocLee, but losing to Nerin and Tetsuyalol, giving him a 3rd place finish. XII played in El Smasho 2 and defeated ShadowPhoenix and Orgasmo, but lost to Tetsuyalol and Scrubaroo, which caused him to place 5th. XII went to Smashmania III and did well, defeating WokeR and RadicalDreamer, but losing to Scrubaroo and Tetsuyalol, making him get 3rd. At Salt in the Sand, Leo actually won even though Scrubaroo reset the bracket. He defeated WokeR and beat Scrubaroo in grand finals. At El Smasho 3, XII was able to score a key win against Glitchbird, and also beat Rojo and rising player Kane. However he lost to Tetsuya and to Dai, giving him 3rd place in this tournament. XII almost never losing to anyone outside top 6 make him earn the number 6 spot.

5. Scrubaroo
Real Name: Andrew Newport
Main(s): Jigglypuff, Peach, Falco
Area: El Paso East Side
Scrubaroo is one of the OG players in the scene, and is also the OG TO of the area. In Smashmania Prelude, Scrubaroo was able to beat XII, Mr N, and BrocLee, but was beaten by WokeR twice. This would be the last tournament where WokeR would beat Scrubaroo, so Scrubaroo got 4th place. At Smashmania, Scrubaroo had solid wins over Moneypants and BrocLee, but was defeated by Tetsuyalol and jacobtwotwo, giving Scrubaroo 4th place. At Stylin Dude, Scrubaroo beat BrocLee again, but lost to Nerin and XII, giving him 5th place. Scrubaroo also went to Salty Juan’s 2, getting 9th. He did ok at EVO 2015, losing to Jackietran.com early in bracket, so he was unable to make it out of pools. At Smashmania III, Scrubaroo got 2nd, losing only to Tetsuyalol. Scrubaroo beat WokeR, XII, Moneypants, KC and Tinmo. At Salt in the Sand, Scrubaroo got 2nd again, defeating WokeR, Glitchbird, and taking one set from XII, but ultimately losing in the second set of grand finals to XII. At Smashmania Melee, Scrubaroo beat BrocLee and Fallen (off) but lost to Tetsuyalol and Nerin, giving him 3rd place. Scrubaroo and XII are very close in skill, but the PR council decided Scrubaroo over XII due to their set counts vs each other. Scrubaroo is up in set counts so he is number 5.

4 jacobtwotwo
Real Name: Jacobo Garcia
Main(s): Marth
Area: El Paso West Side
Jacobtwotwo is another of the rapidly improving players, constantly showing why he deserves number 4. However, this season he has been unable to attend tournaments due to personal reasons, but every time he does come to one, he reminds us why he is number 4. Jacobtwotwo attended Smashmania, where he went on a rampage, losing only to Nerin and Tetsuyalol. He defeated Turnipslip, Fallen (off), Abraxas, and Turnipslip, which made him get 3rd place. That is the only major tournament he entered this season. However, the council decided that he should still be number 4 because he still is very strong, having important wins over key players in smaller weeklies. Hopefully, jacobtwotwo is able to come back next season and show that he is capable of getting higher placements and destroying the rest of the top ten.

3 Dai
Real Name: David Arzola
Main(s): Captain Falcon, Falco
Area: Juarez and El Paso West Side
Dai is one of the old school players in the area, and is considered to be number 1 in Juarez. He was unable to attend El Paso tournaments for a while due to issues with crossing countries. However, he has been able to beat WokeR and XII in tournaments at Juarez, so he was already a threat before coming over to El Paso. Recently, he has moved into El Paso, so next season he will finally show what he is truly made of. Dai recently entered El Smasho 3, where he went on a rampage. He was able to dethrone Tetsuyalol and ended up taking the whole tournament. He lost to WokeR kind of early in bracket surprisingly, but was able to bring it back, beating KC, Fallen (off), Glitchbird and XII. He also managed to beat WokeR again, and was able to take 2 sets from Tetsuyalol in grand finals, showing that El Paso’s best can still bleed. Later, he moneymatched Nerin twice and was able to prove that this tournament was not a fluke. He solidly defeated Nerin in the moneymatches. Dai is a very strong player, hopefully, next season he shows that he can be number one.

2 Tetsuyalol
Real Name: Josh Newport
Main(s): Marth, Fox, Sheik, Falcon
Area: El Paso East Side
What? Tetsuyalol at number 2 only? That is probably what most players will think if they read the PR. Tetsuyalol has been king of El Paso for a long time. However, this season, Nerin has one upped him. Tetsuya entered Smashmania Prelude and won, defeating Nerin, WokeR, and BrocLee. Tetsuya also entered Smashmania, beating Scrubaroo, Radical Dreamer, and Nerin, even tho he lost to Nerin in winner’s finals, making him place 1st. At Stylin Dude 1, Tetsuya beat MachineElf, Glitchbird and Nerin, taking 1st even though Nerin reset the bracket.Tetsuya also entered Salty Juan’s 2 and beat Abraxas and TwinA, but lost to Axe and Light, making him place 4th. Tetsuya went to EVO 2015 and lost early in bracket to Lovage, but still made it out of pools. In phase 2, Tetsuya beat PB&J and lost to Drephen, doing very well and making EP proud. At the Knock Out Gaming event, Tetsuya defeated BrocLee, XII and Nerin, but lost to Nerin in grand finals, giving him 2nd place. At El Smasho 2, Tetsuyalol defeated XII and Nerin, winning the entire event at 1st place. Tetsuya entered Smashmania III, and he defeated Scrubaroo, Faltrazz and XII, winning the entire event. At Smashmania Melee, Tetsuyalol was able to defeat BrocLee, Scrubaroo and Abraxas but lost to Nerin twice, making Tetsuya take 2nd. At El Smasho 3, Tetsuyalol defeated BrocLee, WokeR and XII. However in grand finals, he lost in a huge upset to Dai, with Dai winning two sets, making Tetsuyalol place 2nd. Tetsuya and Nerin are both very close in skill, and the council decided that due to Nerin having taken more sets off Tetsuya, in both big tournaments and weeklies, he deserves number 1 over Tetsuya. However, Tetsuya still is a very consistent player and has not lost to anyone other than Nerin for a long time before Dai showed up. This consistency and Tetsuyalol’s victories earned him number 2 in El Paso.

1 Nerin
Real Name: Eric Smith
Main(s): Fox, Falco
Area: El Paso West Side
The number one in El Paso for summer 2015 is Nerin. Nerin is probably THE fastest improving player in the region, and just started out 1 and a half years ago. Nerin finally became number one after repeatedly losing to Tetsuya in the spring and in winter 2014. In Smashmania Prelude, Nerin defeated XII, WokeR, and took a set from Tetsuya in grand finals, but Tetsuya defeated him in the second set, giving Nerin 2nd. At Smashmania, Nerin defeated Abraxas, jacobtwotwo twice, BrocLee and took another set from Tetsuya, but still lost to Tetsuyalol in grand finals, giving him 2nd. At Stylin Dude, Nerin defeated Scrubaroo and Glitchbird, and took another set from Tetsuyalol, but still lost in grand finals again, giving Nerin 2nd. At Knock out Gaming, Nerin beat XII, and took two sets from Tetsuyalol, giving Nerin his first ever tournament win over Tetsuyalol. At El Smasho 2, Nerin defeated Scrubaroo, Glitchbird and Broc Lee, but lost twice to Tetsuyalol, which made Nerin get 2nd again. At Smashmania Melee, Nerin defeated Abraxas, Scrubaroo and beat Tetsuyalol twice, making Nerin place 1st. Nerin also entered a couple of regionals and nationals in the summer too. Nerin entered Salty Juan’s 2, EVO 2015, Mayhem, and some AZ regionals. At EVO 2015, Nerin did well, making it to losers finals of his pool, but lost to sk92. At Salty Juans 2, Nerin defeated both Twin1 and TwinA along with XII, but lost to Light in losers, giving him 5th place. Nerin entered Mayhem in August, and did well, making it out of pools, but losing in the final phase, giving him 25th, which is not a bad place for a SoCal tournament. In the locals he entered at AZ, Nerin had close sets with SanchAZ, and actually defeated ForteFreak, both ranked AZ players. Nerin has made us proud in EP with his progress, and deserves number one because of his efforts and victories over the rest of the top 10.

SHOUTOUTS
Huge shoutouts to Poor_Moneypants. If it wasn’t for Dai’s rampage at El Smasho, Dai would not be included due to lack of data and Moneypants (Caleb) would be number 10. This will be solved with next PR featuring Top 15 though! Shoutouts to KC (Chris), MachineElf (Isai Newport), and RadicalDreamer (Justin) who were also considered to possibly be number 10. Shoutouts to the council for having great ideas while knowing to reject my bad ideas. Shoutouts to Otter (Omar), who was heavily considered to be in the PR but has absolutely no data this season. Come to tournaments dude! Shoutouts to Varist (Blake) for moving out like a buster. Varist is another serious contender for top ten. Shoutouts to SFS (Sam) for causing many upsets, but moving away like a buster too. You could have been top ten in El Paso dude. But you are not top ten in El Paso. Shoutouts to Mr N (Neale) for another possible top ten player but moved away like a buster too. Shoutouts to people who moved away, make EP proud! Big shoutouts to our TOs for making Smash in El Paso amazing. However biggest shoutouts to Arwing (Andrew Aiken) for providing the amazing picture. Ty dude u make El Paso look amazing. Thank you everyone for reading this! Look forward to FALL PR 2015, featuring TOP 15!

Finally! Late upload but the Winter SSBM rankings are here! Thank you everyone for participating this season! The rankings are based mostly on tournament placings, but is also based on head to head a bit and is based on the ELO that my good friend Roboghandi made. S/O to you Roboghandi for helping so much yo. Please do not get salty and instead use these rankings for motivation! Since there is 15 people on these rankings, you have more of a chance to make it yourself! Use this PR to get motivated to one day have your name be written up here. There are 15 because I believe that these 15 players all deserve to get their name out there and all are capable of making it out of pools at nearly any event they attend (if they dont play bad). This is the PR for El Paso, but it also includes players from Las Cruces and players from Juarez that attended El Paso tournaments. Also, please remember that you must have attended at least 2 events this season in order to qualify for the PR, which means that players like Kalin or Sir Skaro could have potentially been in the PR if they had attended one more event. Please come to El Paso events more often to qualify guys! The ranking period was from late September to March with SMASHMANIA being the final event in the Winter PR season. Here is the list:

0. Blake's Ghost
1. Dai-A
2. Nerin
3. Tetsuyalol
4. jacobtwotwo
5. XII
6. WokeR
7. Scrubaroo
8. BrocLee
9. Moneypants
10. Kane
11. KC
12. Mario Pedraza
13. Glitchbird
14. Abraxas
15. Deltron

HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Kalin
Chriz
Sir Skaro
RadicalDreamer

Shoutouts to all of El Paso Smash Bros. I love all you people <3 Shoutouts to Scrubaroo for being a great TO and for bringing us all these events that bring us together. Shoutouts to Arwing for making such an amazing background. You still really make El Paso look really good up there dude. Its really good! Well here is the PR! Good luck to everyone for next season!

Heya pal! Try not to bump super old threads. El Paso Smash Bros is still super active, and we have a lively Melee community. Click on the link the member above you provided. We have events pretty often at the Sunshine and at Glitch Gaming Center, and Melee peeps are generally super cool about hosting fests at their places too.
