Just got an email... It's official, E3 digital is official cancelled for 2022. Lots of mixed feelings about this...

Despite the news of E3 2022’s cancellation, gaming enthusiasts won’t be starved for updates and reveals on upcoming releases; today it was also revealed that there will be a Summer Game Fest planned for June 2022. The SGF account stated that the event will be hosted by Geoff Keighly, who also hosted the previous two events for Summer Game Fest. This won’t be the first time Summer Game Fest has occurred in a year the Electronic Entertainment Expo has been canceled - the same thing happened in 2020, when ESA canceled their event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Given how much gaming communities look forward to E3, and how inconsistent it has been in these past few years, only time will tell if Summer Game Fest can fill the void of mid-year gaming expos.
Author’s Note: Man, that’s a bit of a bummer. What are your thoughts on E3’s sudden cancellation? What games do you hope to see at Summer Game Fest? Let us know in the comments below!
