As quoted from the second half of Friday's update titled "Share", Sakurai said, "It’s difficult to put the joy of being able to exchange snapshots and stages into words. I certainly hope you will all enjoy it." What does everyone else think?

No, he is refering to the ability to share snapshots and custom stages to friends as well as send them to Nintendo to compete for stage/snapshot of the day. Downloadable content is by no means confirmed or at all likely.

If you consider stages made by nintendo, then yes. downloadable content has been confirmed for awhile, nintendo sends you stages every day IIRC

The stages sent to you everyday are the "stages of the day" which are sent in by other users. They are not downloadable content like a new stage or character, they are simply things made in stage editor by other online smashers. Though you can call this "downloadable content" if you wish.

There is a difference with what you are thinking.. The data or content that is being sent through wifi is content already found within the Smash bros brawl disc... it is nothing new, with the downloadable content you are thinking about would mean New data created.. then saved onto the Wii which would be really big for the wii to hold...

So the update confirms Data we already have access to, which can be shared... think of it like this.. Pokemon games allow you to trade from current generation, but not from current to past generation.. because the info is not of the new pokemon/moves are not inside of that old generation game.

I hope that makes sense.

I'm pretty sure one of the updates stated these might contain nintendo made stages as well, though they will probably still be created by the editor.

like capcom's special stages on Megaman Powered Up's online. same idea.
