Yeah and for what reasons they rewrote that? DK Jr was never used again when Rare left.hemightbegiant said:The continuity theory has changed.

Point taken, Kori samurai. Nintendo did take out good characters and replaced them with clones (The only ones I use are Gannandorf and roy), like Meta-Knight, Pit, and of course, Diddy Kong.KoriSamui said:Donkey Kong Jr. and Donkey Kong were both excellent games. They were classics. However, I don't think he'd make a very good addition to the Super Smash Bros game. I'd much rather see Diddy Kong in the game for two reasons:
Donkey Kong Jr. would most likely be a clone of Donkey Kong because of his character model. Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. look strikingly similar. No doubt Donkey Kong Jr. would fit amongst the clones as a smaller, faster, weaker version of DK. I just don't see Nintendo giving him his own moveset.
Diddy Kong has many differences from Donkey Kong. He has those peanut shooters, his simian spring, his electric guitar, etc.
The one thing that annoyed me about Super Smash Bros Melee was that they had those ridiculus clones. It seemed to me like Nintendo's final struggle to pop out characters because they were on deadline. I think this time they should take it slowly and work hard to produce unique characters.
Rare never USED DK Jr.!!!!!!! DK Jr. only appears in Nintendo made DK games. DK IS A NINTENDO PROPERTY, Rare just was able to use it to make the DKC games. Anything they created for it became property of Nintendo automatically, and if Nintendo wants DK Jr. to make a comeback HE WILL.Diddy Kong said:Yeah and for what reasons they rewrote that? Yeaaaah I never said Rare did something with DK Jr. And man Im gald they didnt! I only said that Nintendo themselfs never used DK Jr anymore after the N64 aka the time Rare left Nintendo...FlipTroopa said:Rare never USED DK Jr.!!!!!!! It's not hard to understand. He was in frigging Mario Tennis 64, and they keep remaking his game all the time. NINTENDO that is, NOT RARE. Rare has nothing to do with DK anymore. Diddy Kong Racing is the only game they still have some say in, because it contains their own original characters.
You remind me of that kid talking to Adam Sandler in the movie, Billy Madison:xianfeng said:the original jumpman was boring and the original Donkey kong were boring but they evolved into something original
Because that was the agreement in those situations.Shark X said:What I never understood, how come when Rare used Donkey Kong and Star Fox, and created characters for them, those characters became Nintendo owned. But when Squaresoft used Mario, and created characters for them, those characters became Square owned?
Or just because Rare was second party to them while making DK and Star Fox Adventures. Square is somewhat a 3rd party company for all consoles I think.FlipTroopa said:Because that was the agreement in those situations.
And I think Square approached Nintendo about Mario RPG, while it was the other way around for the other games.

Wow, you just read the title.Rebel said:I am referring to the title of the topic when I say: GOD I HOPE NOT!!!!
Or at least not until other Kongs make their apperance. Well, not before K. Rool either.
How bout he's in a Super Smash Attack? DK Calls in DK JR and thy do some CRAZ-E crap, or Diddy and DK JR solve their differences and both open cans of wup-a** on unsespecting opponents.zombie7775 said:I dont think he will but anything is possible. If he does I wouldnt play as him anyway. Maybe as a boss or something.
Dk jr's jeleous because his games arn't as fun, he isn't as unique or popular and that Diddy replaced him. Diddy is just the loveable little guy in the middleShark X said:They have differences?
ARRRGHH! This topic is getting nowhere. It will depend on Miyamoto, not fans of Nintendo/Super Smash Bros.
So even though rare made the games everything they said is BS? Nah DK jr is just Dk whne he was younger Rare has always said that and Nintendo even said it for a while DK jr = DK classic DK = Cranky Kong hence Cranky's remarks in DKC.What Rare said about the Donkey Kong Country series is not canon. What Miyamoto said about the classic Donkey Kong series is canon. If you still firmly disagree, then why did they change Princess Peach into Princess Toadstool in America? Did it sound too wierd? When Miyamoto found that out, he was so upset, he could do better than Segata Sanshiro in this video, by breaking three concrete blocks with the back of his head instead. Donkey Kong JR. is still unforgotten by Nintendo.
Sakurai isn't looking for the most popular characters, he's looking for the most unique ones.DK junior was in Mario Kart for SNES. He could have a kart moveset :D. I think diddy is a better choice. Hes more popular and in more games. And isnt DK junior Dk's kid, thats what i always though anyway.
DK Jr is to DK as Young Link is to Link.Sakurai isn't looking for the most popular characters, he's looking for the most unique ones.
SO! Sakurai can make him not be the clone of Donkey Kong.DK Jr is to DK as Young Link is to Link.
Thus, DK Jr would end up being a clone. And since there is nothing unique about being a clone... Diddy>DK Jr in every way.
Sakurai promises that he will not create more clones. DK JR. has been used more than Diddy Kong, because RareWare owns some of Diddy Kong's rights, while DK JR. is completely owned by Nintendo.SO!? He even made Ganondorf a clone of C.Falcon.
The only consideration that Nintendo should make by adding DK Jr is that they have no time making Diddy an unique character.
Oh yeah and why did Diddy replaced DK jr in any games since Nintendo fully owned him?Sakurai promises that he will not create more clones. DK JR. has been used more than Diddy Kong, because RareWare owns some of Diddy Kong's rights, while DK JR. is completely owned by Nintendo.
Sorry hemightbegiant, but perhaps this is my last post in this thread.
Rather than make fun of you for claiming Miyamoto hasn't forgotten DK Jr. despite not using him since Donkey Kong ’94 (aka NOT Mario Tennis or Game & Watch Gallery, which is ironic in itself, because Miyamoto was the PRODUCER of Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat *GASPNOTRARE* yet didn't make much of an effort to put in his 'favourite' character), but instead I'll just dissect your even more flawed analogy to Yuji Naka. Because I can.I trust Miyamoto, but I don't trust RareWare. Miyamoto created Donkey Kong JR., and he still doesn't forget about him.
This is similar to when Yugi Naka, the creator of Sonic the Hedgehog, said that Sonic's favorite food is McDonald's burgers, while most fans believe that Sonic's favorite food is chili dogs according to the Sonic cartoons and comics (except for Sonic X).
Yeah, I'm bloody sure that was the team;s vision of Sonic waaaay back in the 90's.Sega.com: When Sonic and his friends sit down to eat after a long hard day of chasing Dr. Eggman, what do they like to eat?
Yuji Naka: They probably eat McDonald's® hamburgers, I suppose? And I think they will get a complete line-up of Happy Meal® premiums.
I used to miyamoto but recently he has done nothing but dissapoint. Rare and Paon are the only ones that can make a DK game, Nintendo EAD sucks arse and should be bombed on a count of how crap they make games, I'm not getting Super Mario Galaxys in fear that the game will be **** because of how crap Jungle Beat was.I trust Miyamoto, but I don't trust RareWare. Miyamoto created Donkey Kong JR., and he still doesn't forget about him.

Everything Rare says about the DK franchise is canon because they pretty much made the franchise, they introduced a real story, introduced characters (except DK jr who is DK and DK sr. who is Cranky) and they got the series popular. Everything Miyamoto says is generally just a personal attack against rare because they make better Donkey Kong games than him and he knows it, and he is a spoiled brat who always gets his way, he was proberly like that as a child too. Do you know what's really funny the best DK games are the ones where he had little or no involvment in (The Donkey Kong Countrys, Lands, 64 and King of Swing)
Miyamoto's dissapointments to me:
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
Super Mario Sunshine
Luigi's Mansion
Starfox Assault (was he on that team?)
Mario vs Donkey Kong (was he on that team?)
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The Legend of Zelda: Four Sword Adventures
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords
Ones that will proberly dissapoint me
Donkey Kong Wii (he's working on it so it will be crap)
Super Mario Galaxys
Mario vs Donkey Kong 2
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.
That old man needs to slow down or take longer to make one excellent game not all of his games have dissapointed recently I liked Pikmin 1&2.
