So do character damage meters get in the way of gameplay like they did in melee?

I mean it didn't bother me too much but sometimes it would distract or hinder me so I was just curious if it still happens in brawl. It wouldn't occur too much anyway; temple when the screen would stretch, yoshi 64, dk 64, very few minor times on poke floats, and some on big blue. Like I said it isn't too big a deal but it would be nice to know if it were lessened for brawl.

BTW: If there has already been a thread on this just close this after giving me my answer.

I'm never really distracted by the damage meter. Actually, I find it very helpful. As the damage increases, you switch from all out offense to strategy-building.

confirmed. Sending supplies.
The damage percentage font looks a bit thinner than SSBM, so I doubt it would take up as much space. Also, the character pics and names become transparent (as seen in E4A vids) should they get in the way, so you don't really have anything to worry about.

Actually if you view some of the videos at E4All you'll see that Sakurai took measures to alleviate the problem of damage meters blocking the players view.

Now they have added a feature where the damage meter and character portrait picture becomes transparent if it blocks the view of another players character.

Below is a URL to a video which showcases this "Transparent Percentages" very often.

Hope this answers your question.
