It' s just random people posting vids, and the first post doesn't even get edited, so in order to look for certain vids, you'll have to dig through the entire thread. Then again, it's not like people use this character, let alone go to this forum

Um, about Captain Jack. His videos are pretty outdated and it's mostly him abusing awful play, let alone DI, from his opponents. He's old friendlies are mostly appreciated for and only for these combos, which are all displayed in "Slam".

Are there more vids on DK/Marth? I've been trying to learn that matchup but there are no videos out there that feature DK/Marth. In fact, like 90% of DK vids seem to be against Fox/Falco.

Btw, NJFinest - what do you think of the DK/Marth matchup? How close is it? I think Mexican said nearly even but I wanted to hear another educated opinion about it.

I think it's pretty much even. Some people say it's up to how much DK experience the Marth has, but I think it has to do more with how good the DK is at the matchup. I say this

Hmm, there's not really much I can say about this since I learned what I know about the matchup by playing Fox vs Marth and reading posts by Mexican/Pkmvodka... but here I go:

Most of Marth's kills should come from edgeguarding DK, but good influencing in your recovery can make Marth have a hard time edgeguarding you. I'm pretty confident that DK has the upper hand in the edgeguard. Drop down Up B from the ledge is a god send and light shielding into a ledge hopped Dair combo works very well. Just like in a Fox vs Marth match, getting in grab combos is pretty much your main method of dealing damage. I get most of my grabs out of bairs, dash dancing, and crouch canceling. As Mexican always says, Giant Punch is very important. It beats basically anything Marth can throw out and it has more range then Marth's Fsmash. You can cargo up throw to Giant Punch around 60%ish. Ftilt has great range, you can slap Marth in his aerials. It's a good followup on a missed bair too (since many Marth's will dash dance camp and wait for that missed aerial).

I dunno about anyone else, but for me, the Marth matchup is TOUGH. DK gets outranged by grabs and outranged in terms of attacks. Plus, you can't even shield because you get shieldstabbed.

So basically, I'd go with lightshielding when I need to shield, but laying on the pressure on Marth so that stuff doesn't happen. If you can keep Marth above you, you should be in pretty good shape. And edgeguarding, of course, and see if you can land a bair or two off the stage, which should secure the kill.

DK does very well against the Marios. It's one of my favorite matchups.

DK's range in his moves is simply ridiculous in this matchup, the Marios can't outspace basically anything. That being said, Bairs, Ftilt, and Giant Punch work... almost too well, especially Giant Punch. Basically throw punches and Bairs as much as possible. Like on Marth, DK has great edgeguarding, namely drop down Up B (especially useful on Marios that go for the Up B glitch). And yeah, grab combos are still solid on the Marios.

If anything, Doc does better just because he's the better character / has better KOing options.

The Marios should, for the most part, be no problem for DK. If you have good DI, you'll practically never die to Mario. He's extremely limited in his ko options. F smash and d smash are his only real KO moves. Everything else DK can survive easy. This whole matchup, just run away and charge your giant punch, hitting him with b airs when he gets too close. Giant punch is your best friend. Run and charge and you pretty much have mario beat. You just have to know how to get around the fireballs, which isn't too hard.

Doc is a little bit more tricky. He actually has KO abilities. It's essentially the same game though. Just avoid the pills and charge your giant punch. Doc can't beat DK's b air or giant punch. Escaping his combos and edgeguarding are the only thing you have to worry about, but if you follow my basic advice, and you're on par with your opponent skillwise, you'll do fine

I have some recorded against KFC's falco. I did pretty good, i think i won the majority of those. I'll try and get them uploaded soon. His falco is pretty good, but its not as good as his marth or fox or anything though

No offense to anyone in the list, but CJ's DK is obviously better then some of the DK's there. If you have those people CJ should deffinetly be there.
Pretty much all videos of his DK on youtube are really old, though. But they're classics.

I know what you mean though haha, but still, his opponents where playing tooo shitty. Also, all of the CJ footage that everyone loves is featured in the combo video "Slam".

Are you talking about that one match vs IKKI's fox?
Sure anyone in that list would destroy that fox, but so did CJ, the only time he died in that match was when he SD'd to finish his epic combo

It's not like that one match or the skill of that fox is in any way representative of CJ's DK lol. He destroyed him anyway, so how could it be? >.>
I don't think any youtube vid is represantive of his DK since they're all so **** old

There are still a few good vids of his DK vs good opponents though. These really are worth watching (despite being old). I wish there where more

EDIT: BTW, does anyone know if there are any vids of M2K's DK? I remember seeing a clip off him CG:ing a falco in a combo video. I can't find any vids of his DK though, cant even find the combo video

Actually, I was considering adding those vids lol, but I was thinking, "hmm, if I add these, I'd prolly have to add the silly Fox/Falco ones too..."

But oh well, fine, I'll add them XD

As for the video of M2K's DK CGing a Falco, that's from my old combo video "OMFG M2K". I'm pretty sure the original footage is on my family's desktop, but I'm much to lazy to go looking for it.

Let's just wait until Dec 13th when M2K money matches Cactuar DK vs Fox.
