Does zelda have any differences between her fair and bair? I just thought it was weird that Nintendo would add the same move onto the same character twice, excluding the direction the move goes, of course.

They are different look at frame data, it's Important concerting the SAF and AC from SH. Fair also feels like it hits further OoS and from running, might be because of how Zelda positions her CoG when jumping or maybe it has to do with differing air mobility front to back.

Bair hits 5-8. Fair hits 8-11. On frame 8 (where they are both active) they are at the same height. This is also why fair hits farther OOS and while she's running (has later active hit frames), but bair is safer since it comes out faster (less time for opponent to act to avoid punish and earlier ending frames so you have better chance to escape if needed). Also they have the same reach (can't 100% guarantee this due to setup but if they do differ it's by like a pixel).

They both have the same damage and knockback output. I just tested this out on training mode and they both kill fox from spawn across final destination w/out stale at 86% (define kill when fox blasts off side without him acting at all due to hitstun).

You can SH double bair pretty easily. SH double fair is possible but has strict timing (also defaults the second one to be super low to ground). On frame 8 (where they are both active). This also means you can swap fair/bair in one SH.
