Any idea when Smashtality IV is going to be NoVa? If I'm able to make it I wouldn't mind traveling with you guys to see some good matches since I kinda doubt that I'll even make it past the pools.

Hm...well okay once you hear of an exact date of when that'll occur can you tell me because I'm interested at heading to a big tournie like that. Hey NoVa want to make a bet to see if one of us manages to either: A) make it out of our pools. B) get beat by somebody like Xell or Tru=. or...C) somehow go against each other in the pools

usually rules are if you are in a crew or 3 or more people in the same area you get courtesy and get seeded in different pools

You not make it out of Pools? Are you serious? I made it out of pools, and all the people in my pool placed high in the top ten, and only one or two placed 17th I think. And none of them beat me as bad as you did, except for one dude. Infact, I lost almost half of my pool matches taking people to the last stock winning and suiciding. And most of the people in the the pools know more about Link than I did. Same thing in the bracket, and I threw my last match cuz I had to leave early. Even my litle brother made it out of pools, and Fox is the most common character used in Melee tournaments. I know you modest Epic, but I have no doubt that you'll make it out of pools. And I played Falcons that placed alot higer than I did at SPOC and only lost once to a Falcon.
Nova, you didn't make it out of the pools last SPOC? I'm suprised, I thought you'd make it pretty far, You must have killed yourself twice or something(like I did) You can just ask not to be in the pools from someone from the same area, I did that the time I went to SPOC.

im going to attempt to host a smashfest on friday May 9th at my college. This will be in down-town wilmington.
itll go from 6pm. to 10:30 pm. This can include people from the dorms around here as well. I'm gonna PM anyone im aware of in DE and some people close within PA such as ultima.
If enough people show up, 5$ melee singles tourney, conventional rules apply. Seeding done by pools, more than likely no eliminations in pools, but just to set up the brackets. Double elimination.
I also need any confirmations on attendance and SETUPs. It would suck to have a smashfest / possible tourney with only 1 setup
, not only that but its a HUGE projector, so it has some lag.
As far as i am aware, the room can fit 3 or 4 setups, and depending on if i can use 2 rooms, we'll have twice as much space.
Smashbrudda, should i try for pakman and such again or just stick to DE people?

Tournie May 9th I'm up for it NoVa but I don't have a set-up to bring though. All I'll need to be there is just to know the address and I'll be on my way (Srules possibly if he isn't busy). I still think my Melee game has slipped considerably since your Smashfest but I'll try to be up to snuff for the tournie.

You never know how it'll play out Epic so just be as prepared as possible and go with the flow. Who knows, we all could get knocked out of pools if we're not careful. I'm just gonna have to make sure that I practice twice as hard. Oh and Nova, please PM all of us when you get the address and all the other info if you wouldn't mind.

I dunno Nick Nasty to be honest after playing UltimaScout, Tru=, and yourself I probably need to rethink how I play as I am far to agressive with falcon to the point that marth's chew me up with simple shield grabbing. I also probably need to add in tech-chasing to my playstyle as with the people I played with before you guys just got fustrated and stopped playing the game when I did that.
I also have to retone my tech ability as I'm not edge-teching anywhere near as often as I used to and its really giving me trouble as falcon's recovery can be easily gimped.

You know, I might actually be able to make this. Got an address or something? If I give my parents early-enough notice, then maybe I could convince them to let me go. I'd have to tell them I found out about it in school or something though, rather than the Internet, unless I can get a friend to come with me.

Okay, kind of bad news (not sure if it will affect anyone). But i had to push back the date, not later, but earlier. It's actually now on Friday, May 2nd.

If you can still come / bring a set up, post again, sorry for the inconvenience. Here's the address though (make sure you read posts / pms the day before as well just in-case of any cancellations, not saying it will happen, but you never know).

If you come a little earlier, make sure you don't park on the places that say 4-6pm towing zones, and if you park in an 8-6, 2-hour parking say about 15 mins early or something, paying the meter only goes til 6 pm, so after 6 its free.
Also, when you get there, call me, because i have to sign you in at the lobby and stuff.
Oh and Cobalt, i think 'hearing about it in school' would definitely work well if you don't have a friend to get a ride from.
But yeah, you all have heard the rules before, so i'll be brief.

-4 stock, 7 minute, best of 3, finals best of 5 >> Loser's bracket winner must win 2 sets.

-Tie breakers are by stock, then percentage.
-Conventional Neutral and Counterpick stages.
-No controller mods
-Stage Strike Rule allowed
-First random round = blind character pick
-Dave's stupid rule modified
-Mages DQ Rule

Wow...played a little of Melee today and I realized I wasn't doing a few things. After playing for about ten minutes I discovered that I wasn't wave-dashing or dash dancing...Yeah, I better practice some more to remember to do that stuff more often.

Ah crap. I can't do May 2nd, I have a school event I have to be at. Oh well.

As for Days of Knights, me and Ace went in to the owner to discuss the details.
He's going to check out the credibility of smashboards and legal specifics and whatnot. He'll get back to us eventually, but things look good, this could very well be DE's first medium-sized tournament :D
I don't wanna count any chickens before they hatch, but any name suggestions for this tourney, Ace?
also my list for May 2nd is on the previous page if you wanna check status, correct any mistakes and whatnot. Also, Ace, i believe there is an age requirement, or at least thats what the 'culture' is?(i haven't seen any kids in the building yet) Being an art school and all, just be aware of it, since you were gonna bring some friends. id say 16 and up.

Hm...Well who will be there? I really only know where Cronux lives and its a long drive for me, I'll have to see if I can snag an ez-pass from one of our cars if I go. Tolls coming and going are a pain its almost ten bucks round trip. Hey NoVa wanna head down? I'll pay for tolls if you drive ^_^...

Hah! How many times have you, Tru=, and Cronux and the rest of the dover guys drove all the way to Newark and Wilmington for the sake of smash? Its not the tolls that bother me, its my horrible sense of direction and imminent boredom when driving alone.

BTW everytime when i used to go down to Dover to play DDR at jolly time, i always avoided the tolls. Sure, takes a little bit longer to get there, but it's well worth the extra 5-10 mins.

I feel bad, cuz it looks like ya'll always come up here but i never go down there, but i swear that's not my intention >.>
With end of the first year my schedule's been really tight and i've been squeezing every minute of my time into everything i do. I get about 3-5 hours of sleep every night because of it. It should definitely clear up after the semester is over, which i believe is May 7th
Also i won't be able to go to the next few Sunday fests at Darren's or Ultima's, because i got finals and portfolio reviews coming up.

Ultima told me that it's gonna last for a while. If I'm not mistaken, you can crash there if you bring your own pillow. It starts at 6pm. I'm probably not going to be able to go because of schoolwork so I'd just thought that I'd let everyone who could go know. If anyone needs more info about this, just text Ultima asap.

I feel kinda guilty about it though since these are guys from NY and its just like this week that a few of us just aren't able to make it because we need to take care of stuff before going out to play.
