Nice to both tru= and Nova on those matches, That edge-tech made all CF's proud tru= on FD. Nova, your marth is definitely getting better each time I see you fight (I better get rid of my brawl habits if I'm gonna have any chance against your melee marth). I'm not a marth user or even a marginal one, but is trying to use counter against a falco a wise decision? I mean, its almost a 100% edgeguard tactic if they up-b, but in combat it seems to be easily punishable. Battlefield and Dream Land especially with the falco is able to platform cancel some of his D-airs.

Never heard of platform canceling? Well what it is if you did an aerial (CF's u-air or Falco's D-air for instance) if you did it at the end of the platform your momentum would have you slip off the platform and enable you to do more actions.

so its just sliding off an edge without wavedashing?
i do it all the time by accident with marth when im trying to back air to the edge, but i tend to shortchange myself, however i still slide off the edge after i land, allowing me to grab it.

pretty much, yeah. when its properly used you have no lag for whatever move you used. A good example would be link's D-air, if platform-canceled he has no lag from usage of it. Its more useful for some characters more than others

Ugh..."suck" doesn't even begin to describe that night.
Byah and I were driving around this neighborhood for close to forty minutes when a cop car pulled up to us and asked us some questions. well...as we discover the zip code that we recieved wasn't even close to where the house was. at this point it was around 9pm so we just gave up and went back to Byah's to play brawl for a bit. Nova popped up as well and the three of us played (the lost ones) but at least two funny things happened.
1: Nova's Ike recovered from underneath Battlefied (no joke, some wierd wall tech thing occured)
2: Apparently you can stomp Ike out of Aether (apparently the only thing that beats Super Armor is attacks that kinda stop time for a second like the Knee or Ganon's stomp)

Okay, so after a bit of testing (not really that thorough), i found how people attack through super armor. Take this for example. You know how if you hit the shyguys on yoshi's story? You get some freeze frames, but only for YOUR character, while the other dude is still moving normally. Keep that in your mind.
Now still keeping the first example in mind, here's the Aether example. You start aether, and you get into your SA frame area. Ganon comes and D-airs you, which has alot of freeze frames when sweet spotted. Like the shyguy, aether's normal time period still goes on during Ganon's freeze frames. What happens, is that Ganon's freeze frames end AFTER the SA frames of Aether has already finished, causing ike to get hit during a non-SA period.
So, if this is true, this would work with ANY attack, as long as you end your freeze frame period after Ike's SA-period, and ill eventually test this more thoroughly.
As for the battlefield tech thingie, i think what happend was that i still had another jump, and i used it right at the slanted part underneath battlfield. Have you noticed when your jump hits the ceiling, you kind of stick to it for a bit, as if your jump actually went over the ceiling, but doesn't register til you 'fall' back to your sticky spot. So i slid up that slant and did another up-b to get back up :D
i wanna see some more melee matches :o

yeah, at the top of the aether, thats when SA frames for aether end
For Ike's UP-B, his SA frames start about 1/4 of a second after you hit b, 18 frames to be exact, and ends about 1/2 second later, somewhere close to frame 48
